Golf is a wonderful game invented in Scotland but it comes with certain "connotations" for American players.
Mainly, in the US, golf is often seen as elitist and exclusionary because most working-class Americans can't afford to take the afternoon off in order to chase a tiny ball around a beautifully manicured course.
And . . . Then there's the legacy of so many country clubs that enforced demographic restrictions long after that kind of practice was frowned upon . . . Moreover . . . Broke-ass plebs of all castes, colors and creeds know that they'll never have the cash to sneak into one of the nicer clubs that still discriminate by way of economics.
To be fair . . .
The Fred Arbanas Golf Course is one of the nicest in all of the Midwest and it's open to EVERYONE & ANYONE with enough leisure time to make use of it.
And this brings us to this week's golfing fun with embattled Jackson County Executive Frank White.
Accordingly . . . Thanks to AWESOME TKC INSIDERS . . . We have a few highlights from the affair:
- Nobody from the Jackson County Legislature was invited. That's a bad move because a nice day outdoors always has the potential to give people a reason to find common ground.
- However . . . There were quite a few county contractors who took part in the festivities. Notice the signage from a controversial tech company that plays an integral part in complaints against property tax assessments.
- It's for a good cause . . . Insiders note that every year the event raises money for charity. However, let's not forget that the shindig gets COUNTY FUNDING and locals might be talking about this party in the very near future given that INSIDERS REVEAL there will upcoming questions about how the finances of the event are handled along with investigation regarding any potential conflicts.
We look forward to any answers that might be provided on the record.
Also, just for giggles . . . TKC isn't above asking for an invite BUT ONLY if we're allowed to cover the event like the scumbags from County Club Adjacent . . .
In the meantime . . .
Here at our www.TonysKansasCity.com blog community we share a quick look and link to the joyous occasion that most local newsies politely declined to report . . .
