Kansas City 2024 Homicide Count Hits #100 After Deadly Triple Shooting

One of the functions of www.TonysKansasCity.com is to follow along with the local homicide count and share the info that Kansas City Police dutifully provide to the public.

Accordingly . . .

ONCE AGAIN KANSAS CITY HITS THE HOMICIDE CENTURY MARK DESPITE MAYOR Q'S PROMISE TO BRING THIS TOWN BELOW THIS TRAGIC ANNUAL MILESTONE!!!

To be fair . . .

KCMO has seen a nearly 25% reduction in homicides this year  . . . But those number follow the highest total ever achieved in local history last year.

Still, we hope the trend continues as local authorities investigate the latest crime scene.

Here's is the 1st report . . .

Homicide 39th and Central

This morning just before 3:30 AM patrol officers responded to 39th and Central on a reported shooting.

As they arrived they located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

While the officers were on scene an additional adult female and adult male victim were located, both suffering from gunshot wounds. They responded to a local hospital with injuries that are considered non life threatening.

This is being investigated as a homicide. Preliminary investigation revealed that individuals were gathered outside of a business when shots were fired that resulted in the victims being struck.

Detectives are canvassing the area looking for witnesses and any possible surveillance footage. Crime scene personnel are working to gather any associated physical evidence.

If anyone has any information they are asked to contact Homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.
