What Will It Cost To Rename Troost???

Dead-tree advocacy repeats a lot of what we've already heard but today we pulled a passage that's somewhat useful . . . Here's a peek at the social justice name change price-tag . . .

"Since Troost Avenue is nearly 11 miles long, it could cost the city hundreds of thousands of dollars to rename it.

"According to the ordinance to rename W. 43rd Terrace to Steptoe Street, changing the street signs cost the city $50,000 for less than a one-mile stretch. "

Of course, practical concerns like this one are downplayed in order to fulfill the dreams of a juice man and a new street name that has a fascinating story but also sounds like a corny tag from a garbage detective novel.
