Aftermath: Kansas City Endures Deadly Independence Day Weekend 2022

Judging from the rising homicide count & escalating violence this weekend . . . 

It seems that Kansas City is doomed to repeat another year of historic homicide & rising crime.

A quick round-up now that the weekend is complete and everyone is returning to the grind with a hangover . . .

Despite warnings from police & politicos regarding celebratory gunfire. Friday started a spate of shooting.

The weekend continued with a scary standoff in Westport and a gunman still at large

A wild Saturday night quickly turned into Sunday morning tragedy after a woman was discovered shot dead.

Monday morning we learned about news of MASS SHOOTING NEAR THE T-MOBILE CENTER ALONG WITH A SPATE OF CAR BREAK-INS.

Two more July 4th murders brought the homicide count to 75.

Finally . . . 

Last night there was a report of another killing on the South side . . . 

Homicide 8900 block of Longview Road

Just before 6pm officers were called to the 8900 block of Longview on a party down.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim just off the roadway suffering from apparent trauma.  EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene for evidence and canvassing for any potential witnesses.

1 man shot to death Monday evening in south Kansas City, Missouri

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One man was shot to death Monday evening in south Kansas City, Missouri, marking the third homicide victim of the day in the city. The latest victim was found just before 6 p.m. just off the road in the 8900 block of Longview Road.


Local business owner reacts to shooting near T-Mobile Center

Police responded to the area near the T-Mobile Center just after midnight, when officers heard gunshots outside the Center while investigating a separate incident (car break-ins) nearby.

We will ALWAYS hope & pray that there's time to turn around and change course . . .

But the reality is that we've seen far more interest in election year politics than addressing the worsening crime crisis in Kansas City.
