Bill Nigro: Westport Warms To Rizzo As Council Dude Bunch Out To Lunch

Throughout the 4th District most Kansas City voters understand that Councilman Bunch is exceptionally difficult to contact for those outside of his bicycle fundraising crew.

Councilman Bunch is so bad and communicating with constituents that troll bot allies working with the Mayor's office & hipster friends are coordinating a digital campaign to smear his former assistant, Crissy Dastrup, who is also running against the social justice advocate turned elected official.

Real talk . . .

Surprisingly, for somebody who talks a great game about plight of the working-class . . . Council dude Bunch hasn't kept in close contact with 4th District residents outside of his activist clique.

Neighbors from Northeast, Westside, Northland and even Brookside don't really have much representation in their 4th District office.

And all of this brings us to Westport impresario Bill Nigro and his estimation of the council dude desperately seeking reelection . . . We were lucky enough to talk with this longtime local leader and here's part of what he had to say . . .

"Anybody but Bunch. Seriously, the guy has done NOTHING for Westport or any neighborhood in Kansas City. He continually makes life hard for us and he's not interested in anything but his cyclist agenda. It's ridiculous that he imagines bike lanes as the solution for every problem."

About the upcoming council campaign . . .

"I've listened to Crissy Dastrup and she has some good ideas and a great future but I think the real game changer is Henry Rizzo getting into this election."

 Mr. Nigro continued . . .

"Henry has more experience and skill to get Westport what we need and help us as an economic engine for Kansas City. Henry will have my support because he's a strong community leader with an excellent track record of responding to neighborhoods."

Bill Nigro continues to lament a controversial "baby sitting" policy enacted by city hall over security check points.

"Over the past two years Westport has been forced to pay out at least a million dollars for a problem that doesn't exist. We're obligated by KCMO to direct our money to activists when we would much rather spend those funds on security."

Mr. Nigro's glimpse at the big picture . . .

"KC needs to think about replacing these people who worked to DEFUND public safety in Kansas City. That needs to be our first goal. Council members like Katheryn Shields and Bunch have endangered Westport and our city . . . I don't think they should ever hold another elected office again . . ."

In the coming days we'll hear more from Bill Nigro regarding his constant effort to work for & improve Westport amid an increasingly dangerous Summer.
