Michael Stellern, a professor of economics at Rockhurst University, says the new sanctions on Russia will only make it worse.

"The service stations are going to immediately raise the price of gasoline so that they're protected against, you know, losing any money," Stellern said.

He said the more countries that ban Russian oil, the quicker Russia's economy will collapse but he doesn't see it happening fast.
