Kansas City Leaders Mistakenly Believe More Taxes Will Help 18th & Vine

This week it became very clear that most of the elected officials at 12th & Oak don't know how money works.

One more example . . .

MAYOR & COUNCIL BELIEVE THAT HEAPING ON TAXES WILL SPARK GROWTH IN THE 18TH & VINE JAZZ DISTRICT!!! BECAUSE EVERYBODY LOVES GIVING MORE CASH TO CITY HALL!!!

Please spare us from the charade which argues that this cash will be managed properly and help improve the district.

$100 MILLION since the 90s hasn't worked to create a viable biz model so I'm not sure why a few more bucks would do the trick.

Nobody bothered to explain it.

Instead, hapless politicos with their own sketchy finances simply demanded the cash and added to the burden of any biz which has braved the abysmal conditions thus far.

Here's what passes for reasoning & reporting . . .

"Because of the blight, 3rd District Councilmember Melissa Robinson said, a significant investment will be needed to continue the efforts to bolster businesses."
