Kansas City 2021 Homicide #87 Investigation After Deadly Gunfire

Kansas City police are confronted with a murder scene on Saturday morning.

Here's the report . . .

This morning about 4:30 am officers were called to the 5200 block of E 28th ter on an outside disturbance involving sound of gunshots.

When they arrived they contacted several people that described a disturbance in front of several houses on the block.

While officers were at the scene investigating, a shooting victim showed up at the hospital who advised he had been shot at this location on 28th ter.

As officers continued their investigation, to ensure the safety of everyone in the residences involved in the disturbance they checked inside them.  Inside of one of the residences they located an adult male unresponsive, who had apparently been shot.

Officers summoned EMS who declared the victim deceased.

Detectives and crime scene investigators are processing the scene now for evidence and to try to determine what led up to the disturbance and shooting.  They will also be working to identify the victim and determine if he lives at the location.

If anyone has any information or saw anything they are asked to call detectives at 234-5043 or the TIPS HOTLINE anonymously at 474-TIPS.  There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.

KCPD conducting death investigation near east 28th & Denver Avenue

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - KCPD detectives are conducting a death investigation in the 5200 block of east 28th Terrace. Shortly after 4:30 a.m. Saturday a shooting victim arrived at an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Information gathered there led police to a residence on east 28th Terrace where detectives encountered a crime scene.
