Kansas City 2021 Homicide #84: Deadly Shooting Overnight

In the early morning hours deadly gunfire echoed through the Southeast part of Kansas City.

Unofficially, this is the 84th homicide so far this year compared to 106 during last year's historic crime spike and 78 the year before that . . . 

Here's the first report . . . 

Homicide 114th and Eastern

Just after 2 AM, officers were dispatched to sound of shots in the area of 114th and Eastern. At the same time officers on a separate call heard the sound of shots and responded immediately. Upon arrival they found a male victim who had been shot. EMS arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. There is no suspect information at this time. Detectives and crime scene personnel are on scene and actively working this investigation.
