Kansas City Homicide #61: Man Shot Dead This Morning

Police are on the scene of the latest local murder and the second KCMO killing in less than 24 hours.

Unofficially, this is homicide #61 compared to 68 at this time last year.

Here is the report of police on duty . . .

Just after 7am officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2500 block of E 68th Ter. on a medical nature unknown call.  Callers reported an unresponsive adult male inside the residence.

While en route the call was updated to a shooting call.  When officers arrived they were directed to a male victim inside the residence who appeared to have been shot.

EMS declared the victim deceased here at the scene.

Detectives will be canvassing for any witnesses and crime scene investigators will be processing the scene for any evidence.
