Kansas City's Coolest Homes/Photo by Nate SheetsICYMI, for our February issue, we spent a few months driving the metro area, block-by-block, to curate a selection of the nine coolest homes in Kansas City. 1. Looks like your typical 1970's era cardboard box.

  2. I just sold a house in Brookside and beware that Brookside has a bat and rat problem. I had to have a specialist come in and bat proof my house with metal screens and also clean up dangerous waste from them. Big problem BIG. Then there is the problem of crime that is now entering into that area. You will also need rat bait at all times and the getting use to dead rats in the yard. Be sure to check your yard before you mow to avoid stepping on one.

  4. Had a co-worker who lived in Brookside.

She woke up in the middle of the night and hid in her 2nd floor while burglars ransacked the 1st floor.

Very dangerous neighborhood and yes she hat the bat / rat issue as well plus the leaky stone basement full of spiders.

  9. If you want to see a nice house, visit Monaco. Our midwest homes are over rated. Just boxes. No view but grass and old trees. No mountain, no ocean.
