Actually, the better fast food joint and nicer places traditionally skip high crime urban and low-rent rural locations. The alleged discrimination is economic and not location based.
However, we wouldn't dare stand in the way of another local gripe for junk food . . . Meanwhile or Asian and Middle-eastern friends have taken advantage of the absence of East side chains as an economic opportunity.
Here's the premise . . .
Fox4: 'Overlooked' - Why aren’t there more franchise restaurants in Kansas City’s urban core?
Deets:
The announcement of four Whataburger locations around the Kansas City metro is sparking a conversation about development and the lack of franchise restaurants in the urban core.
Despite renovations and redevelopment of key and high traffic areas, many say the area continues to be overlooked.
“It’s sad that when other companies are being courted to come to your city, they look everywhere else but here,” local outreach leader Pat Clarke said. “It’s something we are used to in the urban core. Something we have had to deal with on the east side."
Clarke said although the conversation was sparked by Whataburger, the problem is much deeper.
You decide . . .
SHITHOLE! BLACK PEOPLE STEAL! CRIME! MAYOR MCDRINKERSON? COMMIE FASCIST DUMMYCRAPS!? BYRON! BLACKS LOVE MURDER! CHIMPY? PETERSUCKER!
ReplyDeletegot that out of way early so you all need not mention it
Yeah, troll game needs work.
DeleteSame reasons there are not many other retail establishments - blacks steal like crazy, security is ineffective/expensive, and now it is racist and a cancellable offense to point out that...blacks steal.
ReplyDeleteI used to work about 100 feet east of Troost. The Walgreens on Troost reeked of urine. Even I could see people shoplifting and the help didn’t care. Why indeed are there no franchise restaurants east of Troost? It’s a mystery to me.
ReplyDelete“I’d like a side of armed robbery and car jacking with my order” said no patron ever.
ReplyDeleteBusinesses do not want to expose their employees to armed robbery, rape and murder nor have their stores burned and looted.
ReplyDeleteWhen Kansas City citizens and its government act civilized for a period of time, they will attract franchise restaurants and shopping.
Why? Hard to believe anyone axes that question with a straight face
ReplyDelete"I used to work about 100 feet east of Troost. The Walgreens on Troost reeked of urine. Even I could see people shoplifting and the help didn’t care. Why indeed are there no franchise restaurants east of Troost? It’s a mystery to me."
ReplyDeleteAnd yet if you're talking about the Walgreens at 63rd and Troost, I've shopped there, detected no urine smell, saw no shoplifting, and found the staff much more competent than the store at 75th and Wornall. Weird.
75th and Wornal is a shithole too. You just have low standards.
DeleteThe reason is simple-
ReplyDeleteBLACKS
LOVE
MURDER
Now lets get back to ignoring black on black crime, just like the mayor.
ReplyDeleteEast side???? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha How Stupid. If you are white go to the east side and sit in your car and see what happens! They even surrounded my real estate agent when she got lost there. Then you have the mayor who kneels when the Plaza is getting robbed and trashed and wants to call the black panthers to act as security for a homeless shelter. Boo Hoo they have overlooked a racist and dangerous area. Imagine that.
Didn't the complaints used to be that the only businesses in the urban core are pawn shops, liquor stores and fast food restaurants? (Fast food restaurants with their high calorie/low nutrient menu being bad.)
ReplyDeleteOh no, it is the urban food desert. How will we sell antioxidant, organic, responsibly raised vegetables to the negroes??
ReplyDeleteDisguise it as crack and malt liquor
Delete8:43 AM. Just demonstrates that you have achieved a tolerance for urine smell.
ReplyDeleteYou have become desensitized.
That's why you no longer have to hang twenty Christmas tree deodorizers on your car mirror. You probably tolerate other hood behavior as normal too but when you expose average citizens to your world they want nothing of it.
The corporations definitely want nothing of it. Enjoy your false comfort weird boy.
When a company opens locations in a city they look for a fast return on their money and their intent is to make a profit fast. In the Urban Core (Troost, Prospect) a company has a hard time even looking at a return OF their money because the people that walk into their business often walk out with the money.

ReplyDeleteno Whattaburgers in the Northland..hmmm
Ton, you just LOVE sitting in the cheap seats and b*tching about things, huh? Clearly.
ReplyDeleteand then you write things like this and you help bring out and feed every knuckle-dragging racist in town, here in your comments.
if you were more aware, if you knew any better, you'd be embarrassed.
clearly you're not. so you're not.
way to feed the racists, dude
Tony does a service by providing a forum where knew-jerk woke culture doesn't automatically cancel any effort at independent thought. Yes, idiots of all stripes are part of that. Guess what? Free speech means being an adult and being able to evaluate input for yourself without covering your ears in panic every time you hear something that violates your expectations.
Delete'Dude'. Run along to your safe space; this ain't it.
Love it. Well said!
DeleteMahomes does not live on the east side either. What is the deal?
ReplyDeleteGood business sense and Woke identity Karencratic bull do not mix.
ReplyDeleteThat is just good businesses sense. Why be in a neighborhood that is nothing but trouble? No thanks.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Mogadishu Whataburger!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteGood job stirring it up TKC! You already know the answer, they'll push for a $15 hr wage,, they won't do it. Applicants won't show up to work, or when they are at work they won't work!
The employees (most of them) will have a shitty attitude
And we haven't even started talking about internal theft, crime in the parking lot OR here's 1 how about work comp claims.
So, you ask with a straight face just to stir it up WHY? Look above!
ReplyDeletePatrick Mahomes has overlooked the family he created. Patrick Mahomes overlooked the responsibility of being a good citizen and example to the kids today by breaking the law and acting like the drunken alcoholic thug that he is. patrick Mahomes has overlooked the fact that he is a loser!
you people are are just plain stupid!!!!!!!! there are few businesses of any kind because they dont want to be burned or looted or have their employees hassled! think about it!
ReplyDeleteRidiculous to call good business decisions based on stats and facts, racist!
ReplyDeleteCurrent black culture goes from zero to accusations of racism faster than the speed of light. Then Ben(Lightnin')Crump jets in to escalate and for a fee mediate the false narrative. We, politicans and the media coddle this demographic like they are helpless retarded children. No offense to retarded children who actually are more responsible than the all things racist mental pygmies and their keepers.
9:58 FTW
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen the McDonald's go out of business? Let's name some, Independence Avenue and the Paseo gone 24th and Troost gone 85th and Holmes gone 47th and Cleveland gone Hickman Mills Drive in the Marlborough District gone hell if McDonald's can't stay in those area there's no chance in hell for anybody staying there
ReplyDeleteWow was the first comment ever accurate
ReplyDeleteNot really, no.
DeleteBusinesses, like Willie Sutton, go where the money is.
ReplyDelete12:00, there was never a McDonalds at Independence Blvd. and The Paseo. There is one on Prospect just north of Truman, and it does good business.
ReplyDeleteNo sir or ma'am you're incorrect it was a state-of-the-art drive-through facility only on the northwest corner of Independence Avenue and the Paseo the building is still there. You're welcome you now been corrected
DeleteThe best way to help folks in the poorest neighborhoods would be closure of all fast food joints. Poor folks can eat better and much cheaper by cooking at home.
ReplyDeleteY’all forgot about insurance if it’s not through the roof expensive or nobody will insure them
ReplyDelete3:48 there was a McDonald’s there, it didn’t last long
ReplyDeleteAnd that is why History is very important.
ReplyDeleteThere was a hospital at 23 Brooklyn just west. Closed.
ReplyDeleteHey, the hood had "Go-Chicken-Go"....... That's all THEY need!
