The rise of telecommuting amid COVID could quickly erode this cowtown's biggest stream of revenue. Accordingly, Mayor Q has flexed on local biz in hopes of holding onto the controversial tax.

Kansas City mayor: No decision imminent on earnings tax refunds - Kansas City Business Journal
While recognizing that potentially doling out tens of millions of dollars in earnings tax refunds this year would create a major challenge for Kansas City's budget, Mayor Quinton Lucas won't make a rash decision on the matter. The region's largest city charges a 1% earnings tax on people who live or work within the city limits.
Vote Yes on the Earnings Tax renewal, so we can keep spending tax money on entertainment districts, convention centers, convention hotels, parking garages for luxury condos and apartments, toy trains, stadiums and subsidize underperforming TIF's.
ReplyDeleteTOP PHOTO -- QUINTON'S RASH DECISION
ReplyDeleteAfter a night of post-10:00PM drinking, Quinton awoke with an itchy patch on his vaccinated arm and a dream to serve as messenger boy for the 1-percent!!!
ReplyDeleteWell yes doling out money would create a challenge for KC's budget because the racist mayor is stealing your money and wasting it painting racist graffiti on the streets. Anyone who says that it was a freebie is an idiot tax payers paid for that racist garbage. The KC mayor needs to be reported for stealing tax payer money and the shady BS that he is doing in KC. He's also guilty of working with Cleaver burning down houses and receiving weapons used in the riots. He needs to get caught and put in prison.
This should be called the entertainment tax.
ReplyDeleteTAXATION without representation. I think a war was fought over that oh but wait that war was lost last night. Nevermind tax the fuck out of everything it won't mater because after 6 months of Big Daddy and the China Ho unemployment will be at 48% and you won't have a worker base to steal from. I say 48% unemployment because over half the US already works for the US government soon to be (CCP).
ReplyDeleteThe way the e-tax ordinance is worded, I do not think there is any good argument that it applies to people who work from home outside KCMO.
ReplyDeleteWe ought to be encouraging businesses to locate and people to become residents of Kansas City, instead of penalizing them 1% of earnings for that decision.
Amen and A-woman.
ReplyDeleteOne way to earn revenue is to open up business.
ReplyDeletePerhaps if kcmo did not outlaw ppl working in kcmo it would not have a revenue problem, e-tax or otherwise.
10;19. Unfortunately KCMO’s mayor is a bit on the dumb side and he hasn’t figured out yet that destroying businesses and driving earners away results in less tax revenue.
ReplyDeleteProfessor McDrinkerson! Take a break from destroying businesses and and virtue signaling! It's time to at least pretend like you're doing something.
ReplyDeleteIf you people think the e-tax is a big waist and burden for the middle class now, just wait for what is coming now that the democrats have control.
ReplyDelete^^Yes! Can't wait for another stimulus, more access to healthcare, Speedy vaccine deliveries, a higher minimum wage, and a tax on the wealthy. Those are coming and we need it! Thank you Dems!!!!!!
ReplyDelete^^ dumbass thats already YOUR MONEY they are just giving back crumbs of your own money and that 2 grand is now only really worth 1500 and by this summer with obamakunt running the show it will only be worth 500 bucks.
ReplyDeleteI’m voting for anything that this mayor is against and vice versus! Worst mayor ever'!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSocialism is great until you run out of other people's money.
ReplyDeleteA good corporate lawyer will eat the mayor alive over this.
ReplyDelete@1153: How can it be "their" money. "They" have probably never worked a second in "their" lives and if "they" are fucking delusional to think "Jina Joe" is going to save "their" ass, "they" are beyond stupid
ReplyDeleteI am practicing my new Congress speak...
The stock market is going up because the Demoncraps help the very rich the most. That's the take from experts all over the place. The middle class is getting hosed because the corporate tax hike will be passed on to consumers.
ReplyDeletetax = Power. He won't give it up unleash it is pried from his hands.
ReplyDelete135 you are right. The DOW is 30 of the largest corps, the SNP 500 - 500 large businesses - they are making a killing with all the small businesses shut down. That's why it's going through the roof - Biden promises to order more and longer lock downs which means more profit for amazon, walmart, lowes, cosco who get all their products from chyna. Shutting down small business and usa based manufacturing is great for wall street.
ReplyDeleteSmall business accounts for 80% of ppl working.
If you rely on (((msm))) for information you are worse than uninformed you are misinformed and brainwashed with propaganda.
Take both knees Lickass.
ReplyDeleteThat man is bound and determined to get himself shot! Won't be any great loss.
ReplyDeleteFuck Democrat, parasite, vampire, lying Fascist scum.
ReplyDeleteVote fuck, FUCK no on the earnings tax and tell these tyrants to open up business' and get their black brethren off of their asses and back to work (As it they were ever working.)
Fuck the E tax! Let Q suck dick on Troost with the rest of the hoes for the shit they are building that nobody wants.
