KANSAS CITY SMALL BIZ OUTCRY: 12TH & OAK TARGETING VULNERABLE & JOBS!!!

Kansas City public health precautions and crackdown orders have unfairly targeted independently owned restaurants despite any scientific evidence that COVID-19 is more dangerous for patrons of small biz.

In fact, the latest research shows that box stores are a growing threat to public health during the holidays.

"The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says holiday shopping in crowded stores is a "higher risk" activity and that people should limit any in-person shopping, including at supermarkets. Instead, the agency recommends shopping online, visiting outdoor markets or using curbside pickup, where workers bring orders to your car."

Nevertheless . . .

THE KANSAS CITY COVID-19 CURFEW CRACKDOWN FOCUSES ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY ON SMALL BIZ!!!

We noted this fact yesterday but here's worthwhile testimony from a small biz that was shut down under the new rules . . .

Henry Service, the owner of The Corner Bar and Grill says his restaurant was visited by the Kansas City Health Department investigators Sunday during a Kansas City Chiefs game and immediately ordered to close.

Service says shutting down small and local businesses only hurts the people working more.

“Hurting us, and putting the 20 people working for me out of work isn’t helping anything, it’s just making people worse,” said Service. “It’s clear they are targeting the most vulnerable people. I don’t think the small mom and pops like me, we are small, we are weak. It is easy to get us shut down.”

Accordingly . . .

COVID-19 HAS WORSENED KANSAS CITY'S REPUTATION AS UNFRIENDLY TO SMALL BIZ AND UNCARING ABOUT LOCAL JOBS!!!

Moreover, the response we've seen to this criticism refocuses public health hate toward owners and pushes back against middle-class bosses but is unwilling to consider the fate of low wage workers at the bottom of the food chain and unable to find other work during the Winter "dark days" of the pandemic.

  1. This thing isn't about science any more, it's about revenge.

And I hope people see, the owners can pick up and move some place else. It's the workers who will be out of a job.

That's the way it always works. Lowest on the totem pole takes the real economic hit.

  14. So if grocery stores are dangerous, shouldn't all the grocery store employees be dead? They come in contact with hundreds of people every day.
