TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY PANDEMIC FURLOUGHS AND BUDGET CUTS IMPACT BROKE-ASS 12TH & OAK!!!

Our blog community talked about KCMO furloughs last Friday and now it's news fact.

Check the links and bad news for local budgets . . .

Fox4KC: Kansas City moves to expand hiring freeze, furlough city workers

KCUR: Coronavirus Threatens To Furlough Kansas City Workers . . .

KCTV5: Pandemic forces KC to look at budget cuts

Now . . .

Whilst everybody loves ranting about the ineptitude of local government workers and trimming budgets, let's not forget that this move represents a severe cutback in services to neighborhoods and residents. The cuts will reduce the standard of living for virtually EVERYONE living in KCMO . . . Yes, that means cozy Northland suburs, Downtown luxury living spaces, Brookside, Waldo, and Ward Parkway, too.

Kc is still alive, just damaged and badly bruised. Maybe some of the rioters and protesters should think about the cost of their actions and how they hurt the whole city when they burn part of it down.

    2. Which part did they burn down? Is there a charred neighborhood somewhere only you know about?

    3. Now, now, don't bait the haters with inconvenient facts.

  2. But they still have the money to paint potholes!

    1. And you're still breathing, which frankly seems like a waste of oxygen, but we still allow it.

      For now

  4. Wish the Mayor and Legislators could be furloughed and the $10 an hour employees could keep their jobs.

By leading the protesters and shutting down businesses, Mayor Lucas personally cost the City workers their jobs and wages to support their families.

  5. Frank and the county just gave KCMO $18 million of the federal "Covid relief funds".
Maybe Lucas can head on down to the health department, get on his knees, and beg Rex for a loan.
Just when you think you've seen it all from 12th and Oak, these jokers come up with something even more ridiculous.
Children playing "let's run a city".
    Hahahahaha!!

  7. But what about all those extra special, super duper subsidized development projects over the last 220-30 years. Surely they're paying the promised big returns to the tax base. Right?

  8. Bow tie the clown sLIE and troy had a lot to do with not having a rainy day fund just for situations like this, the boi blunder could’ve done some saving himself but no, developers, give away programs, toy train, a new airport and hotel that we paid for most of were more important than the lowly paid city employees. Tack on an out of control month long riots that put other people out of work and you end up with this disaster.

What’s with these black dimwit run cities and spending every last penny and then some on shiny toys and objects, it’s time the people “get woke” to these idiots and get them out. All we are is practice for moving up the political ladder and it doesn’t matter what it costs us as long as these losers get to move on free they’ve destroyed their cities.

    1. Right on. What is wrong with them? Why can't they balance their spending like DC does. Losers. Sheesh.

  9. How many of those black lives that supposedly matter are going to get furloughed by KCMO? That's ok, I'm sure they will appreciate the street murals.

  10. Will the mayor and city clowncil be required to give up their pay? Didn’t see that mentioned as an option to help save the city.

They should, their actions and carelessness put us here in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  11. i thought the city was about 70% black employees, if that isn’t enough proof that dimwits don’t care about blacks I don’t know what is.

    1. And you do care? (Eyeroll)

  12. If you are a KCMO employee your black life doesn't matter. But feel "free" to ride the "free" bus, "free" toy choo choo, marvel at the subsidized street murals or go watch them build the airport that we don't need and didn't to begin with. You could also feel "free" to "peacefully protest" and pick you up some "free" merch. Also, feel "free" to get the f**k out unpaid. We have more important things to spend your money on than you plebes! The proletariat is so disgusting! We give them "free" shit and expect us to employ them too!

  13. Democrats mismanaged our money at both the city and county levels. Yet, somehow there is plenty of money for BLM murals.

  15. Black ran cities are like the EBT card users in designer hoodies, $200 basketball shoes and drive off in $40k SUVs with temp tags and no insurance.

Bernays' Propaganda? That post WW1 socialogical work that tried to explain early feminism, and Maybe predicted the nationalism that became Nazi-ism?
Nope. Do you buy it? I don't.

    3. Sorry, I didn't mean to recommend Bernays from a political perspective, more along the lines of understanding the methods employed when conditioning a population to accept servitude. The modern mind can be enslaved without shackles. Along the lines of manufacturing consent.

His theories may help explain the tendancies of large groups of people to react similarly, but I don't believe it. Especially when it comes to enslaving a group of people, to their detriment.
I don't believe we have slavery in modern-day America. People have free will, and believe (and act) what they want.

  18. TOP PHOTO -- BAD DECISIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES

Mayor Quagmire's draconian anti-business mandates mean the virus has now come home to roost at City Hall!!!

  19. And 2 months ago the City ratified an $8 minion expense for the next step in the street car. The council can't defund this spending is amazing. Bottom line, is that the urban council members will not admit the street car was a mistake in the first place. Ridership is down 80 % which is not going to change anytime soon.
    Morons.

  20. Just wait until all the non residents who have been working from home start asking for a return of the etax, next year.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Imagine how much better the city would be financially if all the handouts given to private developers were instead used for citizens of this city instead!

The pandemic will be a convenient excuse but the financial problems of this city started long before COVID came about.
