KANSAS CITY MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS CELEBRATES DOWNTOWN NIGHTLIFE AND SOCIAL DISTANCING PROGRESS!!!

After Kansas City P&L District "Live Block" debate over masks and social distancing dominated the discourse among party people this week . . . Mayor Q offers his encouragement.

Meanwhile, we note that the photo is taken from above AND some critics dispute the regs altogether even if those voices have been mostly silenced.

Nevertheless, here's his latest update that's generating a lot of buzz . . .

Mayor Quinton Lucas: "Glad to see reports of social distancing progress from one night to the next at Kansas City Power & Light District. This is a process and I know Kansas Citians want to do the right thing, even if we're not always perfect (me included). Thanks to all ensuring their friends, neighbors, and folks they don't know can be safe.

"I will be out and about this evening into the late night hours to see how we're doing in other social areas of our beautiful city. Drop me a message if there's somewhere you think I should check out."

And all of this inspires our somewhat classic Saturday night song in lieu of a full playlist and in respect to COVID limitations on capacity  . . . The Distance.

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night!!!

  2. "I will be out and about this evening into the late night hours to see how we're doing in other social areas of our beautiful city."... Uh huh, he'll be out late just to check out social distancing, it has nothing to do with doing a little partying himself. I have no issue with anyone unwinding, but after the whole lake picture issue, maybe he should chill a little.

    1. By that bogus logic you should shut up and never write again since you misspelled something once.

  4. Late night hours? Other social areas? How many gay bars do we have?

  5. Hope he's making sure social distancing is happening at 18th and Vine. A few nights ago it wasn't. But maybe he's afraid of gunfire there.

  7. The masks are a good idea but tonight it would be a shame to waste the nice weather inside. Outdoors is MUCH better.

  8. The mayor talking out of both sides of his mouth again. Overwhelm local business with stringent regulations and arbitrarily enforce them. And then promote "tourism" when most places are shut down.

    Two faced quinton strike again.

  9. Missie B’s is still closed since March 17. They’ve never reopened and are using this shutdown for major interior and exterior remodeling.

  13. Quinto Lucas loves the propaganda doesn't he. That picture looks so fake and if downtown did look like that those places are losing a lot of money and it's not worth their time to even be open.
Didn't dumb ass Lucas hear Dr Fauci's latest? 6 feet apart is not working now it's suppose to be further. Next week they will all change again and say something completely different.
Look how stupid Lucas looks, but it makes sense he's in the picture because it's dark and he's a cockroach.
