Officers said a man died in a field near Independence Avenue and the Paseo at 1:15 a.m.Police said there were witnesses who they are speaking with to learn more about what led to that man's death. This is the 123rd homicide in Kansas City in 2020.

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- A man is dead after being shot early Thursday morning in Kansas City. Officers were called just after 1:15 a.m. to Independence Avenue and The Paseo on a shooting. When officers arrived, witnesses at the scene directed them to a nearby field where they found a man who had been shot.
