CELEBRATE!!! KANSAS CITY P&L DISTRICT SEYZ MASKS NOT REQUIRED INSIDE LIVE BLOCK ENCLOSURE AFTER CORONAVIRUS CONCERN SPARKS CONTROVERSY!!!
Last night we talked about social media drama in Downtown Kansas City that sparked pandemic safety fears and/or "mask shaming" along with a great deal of hard feelings.
MSM newsies followed-up and here's what we've learned as this corporate party district operates above the fray and despite stricter rules that are killing biz in Westport and across the city . . .
P&L LIVE BLOCK SEYZ NO MASKS REQUIRED AND IGNORES LACK OF SOCIAL DISTANCING!!!
Here's the their response . . .
“From the beginning of the pandemic, it has been incredibly important to the Power & Light District that we comply in every way with the regulations imposed by the City of Kansas City’s State of Emergency ordinances,” spokesperson Rachel Waller said in a statement.
“Because the Power & Light District’s outdoor plaza is an outdoor venue, guests are not required to wear masks when in attendance,” she said.
The district says all the restaurants surrounding the outdoor venue require masks at the door.
Meanwhile, press material refers to KC Live! as "enclosure" and during concerts like last night, it's blocked off from the public. Also, the comments don't address the clear lack of social distancing as crowds will undoubtedly grow. Still, we hold of judgement and wait to see for our blog community reaction of a story that gained traction right here on TKC.
