TKC MUST SEE!!! BEST SHORTCUT PAST DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY: WESTSIDE BEARDSLEY ROAD REOPENS!!!

A couple of years ago our blog community was the FIRST to break news of a HOBO RIOT AND ARSON that shut down Westside Beardsley road.

Our reporting was tacitly confirmed by MSM and last year there was a plan to reopen the path.

Unfortunately, amateur urban planners and bully cycling advocates wanted to keep the path closed and offer asylum to homeless addicts whilst building another bike path for weekend amusement.

Thankfully, neighborhood leaders pushed back against their "advocacy" and instead continued work to keep the road open to the residents of the Westside whilst securing a path that quickly connects Downtown residents with the growing West Bottoms area. To be fair, there is improved bike lane access for this road that's mostly unused.

Beardsley has been open for a couple of weeks and we merely offer this update to illustrate the devastating cost of local homelessness and the hapless ideas of urban planners successfully averted.

  1. Hobos are sometimes homeless but not always.

Unfortunately, homeless can be dangerous and a lot of them have drug problems and mental health issues that prevent them from maintaining home ownership.

    2. Be careful using this as a bike path.

Cars regularly hit about 70mph. Especially now with fewer vehicles on the road.

  2. Even to i would drive 70 on beardsley does not mean that the road could not be integrated into a sensible bike plan, but there is no sensible bike plan, just a bunch of unused bike lanes all over downtown.
