We talked this week about the impending bankruptcy of Kansas City and the unwillingness of the Missouri GOP to offer much help given this town's irresponsible spending.
Here's one more passage regarding the journey down that road.
"This week, a Missouri committee agreed to hand out $521 million from the federal stimulus bill to help counties with their coronavirus expenses.
"Clay County will get $29.3 million. Platte County will receive $12.2 million. The city of St. Louis is getting $32.2 million.
"Kansas City didn’t get a dime from the fund. Neither did Columbia, or Springfield, or Lee’s Summit, or any other Missouri city. Why did St. Louis get that much federal aid?"
The reason is dumb and arbitrary and involves the strange city/county distinction that only interests the chronically bored or boring.
This is more fun . . .
"Jackson County, which got its stimulus money directly from Washington, should give Kansas City roughly half of its allotment, or $60 million."
No word from the courthouse on that but "the conversation" should be fun for all.

With the incompetence of how Jackson County is "managed", it will take most of the $60 million just to fix the elevators at the courthouse.
