JACKSON COUNTY WARNS AGAINST CONTINUED PHONE SCAMS!!!

Important update targeting locals already suffering from a friend or loved one in lockup during the pandemic crisis.

Here's the word . . .

SCAM ALERT

Recently the Court has received reports of individuals receiving calls that appear to come from one of the Court’s phone numbers, 816-881-3934. The calls may also include a recording indicating that they are coming from an inmate incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail. The person calling then claims the inmate on whose behalf the call is made is related to or known to the person receiving the call, and seeks to have the person receiving the call send money on their behalf. They may also seek personal information that could lead to the caller accessing bank account(s), credit, etc.

Unfortunately, scams continue to occur. Protecting yourself is the key: Never give money, or provide personal information, when you receive an unsolicited phone call.

If you receive a call from this number with this same scam, hang up immediately and report it to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office or other local law enforcement.
