Missouri proposal would criminalize sex changes and related treatments for those under 18
The Missouri Legislature is being asked to ban doctors and their workers from assisting with or doing sex changes for those under 18, according to a report from MissouriNet.Representative Adam Schnelting, R-St. Charles, is proposing to charge them with a felony and yank their professional licenses for providing gender reassignments, hormonal therapy and puberty blockers, which are different from surgically changing genitalia.
As a fairly liberal person this needs to happen. I suspect that many transgender people were abused as children by their parents and there needs to be a study regarding this. I say this because my wife was abused by her father and part of the abuse was telling her to be a boy alot.

ReplyDeleteGender dysphoria is a mental disorder. Those who suffer from it should receive counseling. If they want to continue down the path of a gender change it should be after much counseling. Children should never be allowed to pursue gender change.
ReplyDeleteI have watched several documentaries on this topic and I think the legislation is a good idea. No one should make such a severe life change before reaching adulthood.
