TKC WARNING: KANSAS CITY STREETS ARE SHEET OF ICE ON SATURDAY MORNING!!!
I've always thought it was presumptuous and authoritarian for anyone but immediate family to tell people to stay inside. That being said, I was happy to get a couple of knocks on the blog HQ basement door and a call checking to see if I was safely huddled into a corner accompanied only by my trusty Indian laptop running an old version of Linux. Sometimes it's nice to be considered.
But I digress . . .
Here's the main point of the post:
BEWARE: RAIN STARTED THIS WINTER BLAST AND MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR KANSAS CITY TO PRE-TREAT STREETS THAT ARE NOW AN ICE RINK!!!
Now . . .
TKC's rules for Winter driving survival:
1. Nearly everything is closed. And risking lives for Red Bull and donuts is probably a bad decision.
2. SLOW DOWN!!! Stopping on local streets this morning is like engaging in a figure skating spin out during the Winter Olympics.
3. TKC never tells people what to do because, in turn, this humble blogger won't be going outside to rescue anybody. And it looks like far braver 1ST responders will be busy dealing with a lot of unlucky folks who don't have the luxury to hide indoors.
A few examples and weather links to start today's cycle of Winter reporting . . .
Check the links:
KCTV5: The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of our area beginning at 6 PM running through 6 PM Saturday.
KSHB: Icy road leads to multi-vehicle crash Friday night in Lenexa
KMBC: Heaviest round of snow could hit midday on Saturday
