TKC WARNING: KANSAS CITY STREETS ARE SHEET OF ICE ON SATURDAY MORNING!!!

I've always thought it was presumptuous and authoritarian for anyone but immediate family to tell people to stay inside. That being said, I was happy to get a couple of knocks on the blog HQ basement door and a call checking to see if I was safely huddled into a corner accompanied only by my trusty Indian laptop running an old version of Linux. Sometimes it's nice to be considered.

But I digress . . .

Here's the main point of the post:

BEWARE: RAIN STARTED THIS WINTER BLAST AND MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR KANSAS CITY TO PRE-TREAT STREETS THAT ARE NOW AN ICE RINK!!!

Now . . .

TKC's rules for Winter driving survival:

1. Nearly everything is closed. And risking lives for Red Bull and donuts is probably a bad decision.

2. SLOW DOWN!!! Stopping on local streets this morning is like engaging in a figure skating spin out during the Winter Olympics.

3. TKC never tells people what to do because, in turn, this humble blogger won't be going outside to rescue anybody. And it looks like far braver 1ST responders will be busy dealing with a lot of unlucky folks who don't have the luxury to hide indoors.

A few examples and weather links to start today's cycle of Winter reporting . . .

Check the links:

KCTV5: The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of our area beginning at 6 PM running through 6 PM Saturday.

KSHB: Icy road leads to multi-vehicle crash Friday night in Lenexa

KMBC: Heaviest round of snow could hit midday on Saturday

Developing . . .

There was a delay between the rain and ice. But not a truck to be seen on KC streets. Another winter disaster in KC's long running record of such.

My local temperature is 64. We haven't had a measurable snow fall for several years, now. It's so beautiful & pleasant here, we must be stupid hillbillies to live in such a place.

Stay warm, stay safe.

Salt trucks all over the place here in Overland Park. Streets not terrible as a result.
Better to be affluent and white. We deserve it.

One inch of snow and Alena Lee is still calling for "heavy snow"

Zero snow.
Meteorologists are awful...terrible.
Cancellations for no snow.
Maybe we get a dusting to an inch today.
Starting a petition to levy heavy fines and jail time for inaccurate forecasts?
Look at all the businesses that were affected.
Where is Fred Broski when we need him?
Fred was the Best of all time!

Byron.... we had 6 inches a few weeks ago, where were you idiot?
Oh I forgot you had your head up your illiterate mothers butt.

If the sky is blue Byron says it's purple, if it's raining outside Byron says it's a sunny day, if it's cold Byron says it's hot.

Bryon is a victim of ignorance.

Byron, it is no 64 where you are in Raytown...but Raytown is tough! The coffee shop will be open at 9.

^^^Says the biggest pussy of them all.

Byron as always has to lie out his ass as they had over three inches of snow last year and over 8 the year before that. He's so stupid he has no idea what measurable is. He probably tells his sheep it's 14 inches as they go, "BAAA BAAAA that fucking thing is small."

Meanwhile we will have nice mild temps this next week while Fuckhouser deals with rain and cold for the whole week.

So in short fuck you Fuckhouser we really don't give a shit what your weather is like because we enjoy the fact those people where you live have to deal with living and being that close to a scumbag liar cheat like you and we don't.

And you don't have to give 1% of your income to the city.

Meanwhile, Johnson County - in some spots you can see the pavement. Why is this so hard for Kansas City proper?

You at we full of shit as always. I drove Uber all over the the Southland last night and there were KCMO PW and Parks trucks everywhere. The streets were "crunchy" driving over all the salt they layed down.
Drove around this morning and had no problem getting around at all.

Remember employees who work at KUMed and the like MUST show up for work.....and that is 24/7. You miss work at these places and you are DONE.... (That INCLUDES the sniffles...)
