Audit finds flawed work 2 years into KCMO sidewalk repair program

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Some neighborhood sidewalks and streets are improving thanks to a tax hike Kansas City voters approved two years ago. However, it's not good news for everyone. A new audit finds some flaws in some of the work that's being done.

  1. Sub par shit work is not uncommon in Killer Shitty

  2. Kind of reminds me of the guy plowing bare pavement this morning. Have to impress the new rich folks taking over the street.

  3. Trump promised to repair America's sidewalks!

  4. ^^^ and the dimwits promised to impeach Trump so.....

  5. The farce known as KCMO's public works department just hires the cheapest contractors and doesn't even monitor them or ask questions.

  6. The whole GD city is flawed.

  7. 8:20 those cheap ass contractors are black friends of the mayor or clowncil who don’t have to do anything right and still get paid regardless of quality.

  8. Any organization responds to what the folks at the top of them make very clear are their high priorities.
In KCMO government, that's not sidewalks, streets, water rates, common sense zoning, fiscal responsibility, or even public safety.
And NONE of those most basic of needs for residents has been of much interest to the electeds at 12th an Oak for many years.
    And the employees respond predictably.
    Elect different people!

  10. I told everyone that Go Bond was a hoax and it was going to be way more than 6.00 a year like some fools said. It is a progressive payment so it will go up every year. What made you people think this was going to be a promise kept? It was for the developers. You can't change it now and that's sad. Do everyone a favor, stop listening to Lucas he's just like James, and learn your lesson DON"T DRINK THE KOOL-AID.

  11. you people do not walk outside in your neighborhoods, you do not need sidewalks, especially on both sides.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Well I am just shocked. Shocked!

  13. most sidewalk should be ripped out and sent to same place they sent Terminal A.

  14. You are being Taxed and Taxed and you keep voting for new taxes. This is 2020 your tax money is going down a big hole. The City is almost bankrupt. The Taxpayers are being buffaloed. And paying the City's Pensions. .A FOOL and his money soon go separate ways.

  15. I need a sidewalk because they won’t give me anymore bike lanes.

    ReplyDelete
  16. well ya do not need them on both sides and they can rip the other side up and turn it into an asphalt bike lane, but ya would have to slow down at every intersection.

    ReplyDelete
  17. all the folks coming up with your bike plans/routes/schemes seem to be idiots too. You bike in all the bike lanes all over downtown? I do not think most of those were necessary and i still do not understand how armour bike lane cost 700K.

    ReplyDelete
  18. bike/walk KC are a bunch of preschoolers with ambitious crayons.

    ReplyDelete
  19. When people drive their car to their destination, they usually have to park then walk. The bike scheme downtown seems to want you all to be able to bike to the front door of wherever you are going.

    ReplyDelete
  20. i do not think it is traffic feasible to give bikers front door bike lane service as credit for using a bike instead of car, nor are there enough bikers to justify it.

  21. Lay the blame at the feet of the Public Works Director and then blame her underlings. The buck stops at the top.

  22. Flaws in the work being done? Let me count the ways:

    East Patrol
    18th Vine
    31st Street grocery
    Aldi grocery

We keep dumping money but some how the state of the art, fine as wine building never quite match the marketing.
