Here's a worthwhile look at an ongoing debate and a money fight wherein educators are tragically scapegoated and administrator salaries are overlooked.

Why Shawnee Mission Teachers - Already The Best Paid In Kansas - Are Asking For More Money
Negotiators for the Shawnee Mission School District and the teachers union are at an impasse and will now present their cases to a neutral party. On one side are teachers who feel overworked and underpaid. On the other side are school administrators who say the union's demands will ultimately put the district in the red.
Can't they all live in section 8 housing in Shawnee and Overland Park ?
ReplyDelete^^Can't you???
ReplyDeleteTeachers deserve better, they have to put up with all these liberal dumbass admin and parents, it’s not about teaching anymore as it is about gay and transgender rights, politics, babysitting and horrible parents. They're lucky there are still teachers willing to put up with this bullshit.
ReplyDelete^^OK Boomer. Die already.
ReplyDeleteTeachers union lobbies to give illegal immigrants access to schools and to bring more illegal immigrants in. The immigrants then use up resources without paying into the system. crowding classrooms taking time resources to get them up to speed on the language barrier brings in lice and other third world diseases.
ReplyDeleteHEY TEACHERS THAT MONEY BEING SPENT BY STATES ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION COULD BE GOING TO INCREASE YOU SALARY!
^^Hey Boomer, die already!
ReplyDeleteOh Chimpy. Does your zookeeper need to teach you some new human words?
DeleteIf you prorate teachers out to working a full twelve months they'd make around $75-80k a year. No one ever talks about this. Catholic and private schools do more with less and most public school teachers couldn't stay employed in an environment where they didn't have a union
ReplyDeleteDemocrat greedy Teachers Union slobs work 24/7 !!
ReplyDelete24 hours a week, 7 months a year.
SMSD teachers make a nice salary get lots of holiday time off almost the whole summer don't have to worry about getting to work on bad weather days and they think they need more money?
ReplyDeleteFuckem and feed them fisheads.
^^Ok Boomer. Go watch Matlock!
ReplyDelete^^New schtick , please.
ReplyDelete^^^OK Boomer.
ReplyDeleteIf we could stop spending millions on upgrading classrooms and having state of the art facilities, then teachers could make a decent wage.
ReplyDeleteI predict a critical teacher shortage in about 15 years. No one wants to put up with the BS any more.
^^^^ there’s a shortage now
ReplyDeleteTeacher shortage? Never. Look at the people in that picture. wtf else are they going to do to make 50K+ a year with benefits, that only takes 4 years of college, and you don't really have to be that intelligent to do?
ReplyDeleteActually not being sarcastic...
Fuck 'em. If academia is too tough, Quit!!! See if these liberals can find a job in the real world.
ReplyDeleteAlways amuses me that these folks watched someone directly in front of them do what they now do, for 16 years, even doing some intern teaching, then find out it's too hard and unrewarding (financially). I'd say that means they're not very bright.
Being the best paid teachers in Kansas is like being the smartest person at a MAGA rally.
ReplyDeleteA truly low bar and nothing to gloat about.
Wow, lots of bitter TKC commentators checking in. They must have built it up spending most of their youth on the short bus.
ReplyDeleteHow bad must their lives be when they are so jealous and angry towards underpaid teachers?
If you think it's such a cushy job, jump in and do it yourself. Most of you wouldn't last a week.
How come no one seems to understand that these overpaid cry babies in SMSD caused their own problems. They and their union supported the lawsuit against the State of Kansas for years which has milked millions of dollars out of education and into the hands of lawyers. They "spread the money" to small districts that should have consolidated years ago instead they supported an excess of superintendents in these districts, some with less than a couple thousand students total. There are almost 300 districts in Kansas in 105 counties when the number should be less than 150. They don't understand how you can only spend a dollar once and if you choose to spend it on lawyers you never see it again.
ReplyDeleteI say close the damn schools for a year. Maybe the teachers and their stupid parents supporting this nonsense will get smarter through osmosis, but probably not.
