Missouri Supreme Court won't hear Clay County commissioners appeal in sheriff's lawsuit
The Missouri Supreme Court says it will not hear an appeal by two Clay County commissioners after the county sheriff sued them last year.Two lower courts have ruled Commissioners Gene Owen and Luann Ridgeway must approve the restoration of nearly $1 million to pay for inmates' food and medical care.Clay County Sheriff Paul Vescovo's April 2019 lawsuit called out Ridgeway and Owen, claiming they retaliated against him for investigating a case of document tampering by Clay County staff members.

ReplyDeleteOh, and @1:40, those two DID already screw up the Assessment Process and raise Property taxes 20-25% with staff cuts to cripple appeals. It just didn't raise the Media Frenzy outside of Clay County (it was in the Northland you know, may as well not exist as far as Media Coverage).

ReplyDeleteCan't be impeached the way things stand now @2:25, which is why there is a Citizen's Committee holding meetings on what changes to Clay County's Charter would be necessary to fix this and many, many other problems. Then it'll be back to Petition time, I'm afraid.
