David Glass, former owner of the Kansas City Royals, has died, team says

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- David Glass, the former owner of the Kansas City Royals died last week, the team confirmed Friday. He was 84 years old. Glass purchased the Royals in 2000 for $96 million and owned the team for 20 seasons.

  1. I was one of many frustrated and critical fans in the early years of his ownership. To be fair, he bought the team when no one else wanted it and it took several years for him to learn how to run a team. But the Royals won and without stealing signs. He took a lot of flack from those who like politicians find it easy to spend other peoples money.
