Kansas City Freebie Transit 2020 Sales Pitch Hopes To Hide Costs From Taxpayers

NOTHING IS FREE.

In fact, the freebie transit efforts are mostly just a tactic used to rebrand initiatives that would otherwise meet with overwhelming voter rebuke.

Taxpayers would balk at raising costs to subsidize bus fare BUT the promise of "free transit" sounds wonderful. The streetcar has yet to live up to biz development promises but the "free" rides negate so much funding clandestinely philandered from the general fund to sustain the project whilst supporters wait for their big payday from the Feds.

Here's a more optimistic bit of cheerleading from public radio:

Kansas City Transportation Options Are Increasingly Futuristic And Free To Access In 2020

  3. Everything is going to be free. We are going to redistribute everyone's money so we can keep everyone at bay "global elite excluded" when we run out of money you will have to go on a extreme diet no healthcare and no clothing. We want to be just like other countries who have had socialism but they failed and we won't. "why" because we are "Super Socialists" and we know everything. We don't look at past mistakes we just know we can do it and we will worry about failure later.

I'm Bernie Sanders together with AOC and we approve this message!

    1. But you're ok with ripping off taxpayers as you pay nothing to drive under the $16 million bridge right?

  10. Yes.
The operation and maintenance of sophisticated transportation systems by a city that can't make a water plant work properly or fix the streets.
    What could possibly go wrong?

  11. So water & sewer rates keep rising year after year .

  12. As the Socialist ramp up their utopian American wet dream rhetoric as November approches. Use this free bus as a microcosm to get one thing straight if you are too immature to not already know. Nothing is free except your mommas kiss.

  13. Can you conceal carry on those buses because you'll need it with homeless riff raff riding all day long.

  14. Overland Park hasn't agreed to the "free" bus. Overland Park has taxpayers enough to pay for the bridge. Overland Park doesn't do free; be it transportation or housing or food. Overland Park isn't a destitute city.
