CELEBRATE THE EPIC AND NEVERENDING CLAY COUNTY BLAME GAME!!!

Public radio jumps into the fray of this suburban grudge match that started over a pricey coffee machine and now mostly involves social media bullying amid this suburbanite 1st world contest of egos . . . Newsflash: The audit solved NOTHING and so far nobody can explain how any of this INCREASINGLY TIRESOME GRIPING impacts the day-to-day of residents . . . This report doesn't answer the question but does a nice job of rounding up the everlasting hot mess.

'Disheartening,' 'Hostile' And A 'Lack Of Trust' - A Picture Of Clay County's Troubled Government

Clay County Commission meetings are tense. There are arguments over procedural matters, like what's even on the agenda, as well as policy matters like budgeting. There's a lot of finger-pointing about who is to blame. The county itself is under a microscope, the subject of high-profile legal battles and a state audit initiated by thousands of voters.

  1. Like Jackson County Clay County government is another corrupt criminal organization.

    Any other questions?

  4. @6:45, what the hell are you talking bout?

Ridgeway is a life-long Republican, Owen is a Republican who switched Parties to run as a Democrat, and they are both opposed to Nolte, who is a life-long Democrat!

Learn at least a little something about the situation before you type, and stop proving who the "dimwit" is, will you?

  5. I am disturbed by the motivations of those driving the audit and Galloway's behavior.
Most auditors quietly go about their work and in the end release an audit report. This auditor, Galloway, started off by grandstanding in press releases and interviews. She has made disparaging comments about the County, some commissioners and staff. She has joined in with a group led by Commissioner Jerry Nolte.
Nolte is using the audit in retribution against the other commissioners that he refuses to get along with.
The whole audit effort was deeply political at the start. It isn't about a group of citizens desiring a well run county. It is an effort to drive two people out of office and make Nolte and his developer friends prosper.
Although the results of an audit may result in findings that reflect poorly on people, including office holders, and even criminal charges, this should not be the motivation.
Galloway should have recognized this and insulated her office from it. Instead, she has behaved very unprofessionally and she now has no credibility.
To date, I don't see anyone wanting to do an audit. This is about Nolte and Galloway wanting to get two commissioners thrown out of office.

  6. ^^^ Thanks, Luanne - but you've been using "cut and paste" to post the exact same text for six months now, and it's getting almost as shopworn as you're looking.

Oh, and please supply another portrait to the Media, that one is at least twenty years and fifty pounds out of date.

  8. I am new here; but, to the best of my knowledge the city is a mess, the county is a mess, the state is a mess, the country is a mess. What was I thinking when I moved here? At least elsewhere the city and the county weren't a mess. How does Kansas City get anywhere with the mess all around? Oh wait, Kansas City doesn't get anywhere.
