TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! UMKC CORRECTS KANSAS CITY STAR ARTSY NEWS AMID HONG KONG UNREST!!!

The topic of Kansas City amateur art and journalism accuracy inspires Saturday night news contemplation.

Here's the sitch:

An artistic display on campus features elements of the Chinese flag crafted into a swastika opposed by a person in a raincoat and gas mask with the hashtag #FREE HONG KONG, all in yellow.

According to the newspaper, when a Chinese student complained about an art exhibit that was critical of their home country, the University of Missouri-Kansas City quickly removed the exhibit.

That's a great story but the Kangaroos deny the claim.

The university said Friday in a statement that student artwork is displayed on three-week cycles, and the piece had already been set for removal on Thursday.

Here's a look at the offending, inspired albeit amateurish work:

Indie reporters are trying to locate the "three-week cycle" schedule but neither newsies or the city college are cooperating.

Fact of it is . . .

With Chinese troops now marching to put down unrest in Hong Kong . . . The cowtown artsy slap fight isn't really important.

Instead, we question IF the exuberant capitalist bull run will support artsy "news" behind the great paywall as stock market gains persist but underlying economic data remains weak.

A look at the recent KC Star parent company McClatchy troubles hints that the answer might be NO and local journalists will pay for dead-tree media mistakes with their jobs and pensions.

Meanwhile, and in fairness, we know that facts become exceptionally "pliable" amid the discussion of college campus art, international political uprisings against communism and newsies nervous about their next check.

And so, we share this playlist on the topic of Democracy in China or lack thereof . . .

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.

    2. Here's the deal: International students are the only real growth market for UMKC. Nobody else is going there and they certainly paying top dollar for the privilege. It's a 3 or 4th choice school at best. Meanwhile, fewer high school students are deciding that they need college at all. So enrollments are going to suffer in the future and the school better do right by the foreign students if they expect to continue the business.

  3. These Democratic party Hong Kong supports don't support the freedom to choose our president here without protesting. Hypocritical pinkos.

  4. Why doesn’t China just buy UMKC? They could get rid of the “urban scholars” and make it an actual university.

So this is pretty good indicator on the level of success you can expect with Gay Run Businesses.
