Kansas City Anti-Crime Awards Night As Homicide Count Reaches Record Pace 2019

To be fair, everybody deserves a break and recognition for the work they do . . . BUT, there's also no denying this taxpayer subsidized group hasn't made much progress. Moreover, they've also served as political support for controversial culture war goals like the Mayor Sly's persistent attack on 2nd Amendment Rights in Missouri.

Therefore, we question their congratulatory headlines and feasting. Take a look:

KC Mothers in Charge honor people, nonprofits working toward change at annual awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Members of the local nonprofit KC Mothers in Charge came together Tuesday for the 2nd Annual Unity Awards. The event recognized, celebrated and honored people and groups who are working toward positive change in the community.

Only African Americans should be winning these awards. White people don't know any criminals.

With homicide numbers in KCMO well over 100 year after year, and millions of taxpayers' dollars spent on these totally ineffective "nonprofits" and slush funds like COMBAT, it takes some real imagination and shamelessness to give out awards like this.
Of course, it's really mostly a self-created opportunity to celebrate themselves and each other.
That used to be limited mostly to the Chamber of Commerce folks, but apparently it's become contagious.
As long as the fact that the vast majority of murders are black-on-black and take place within about a 60 square block area of the urban core continues to be willfully ignored by the people who could actually try to make a difference, nothing will change.
Hope the governor made it clear to Lucas that he's already tired and embarrassed by Missouri's public safety statistics ruined year after year by St Louis and KCMO.
Suck it up, Quinton!

Blood flows in the streets, and useless, resource-devouring assholes congratulate each other.

"Mothers In Charge" of what?
Planning get-togethers like this to pat each other on the ass for getting nothing done?
How have they made any difference in this City?

OMG what an embarrassment. You're correct they have no shame, or the truth of the matter is, they are out of touch with regality.

It starts at home, with the mothers and fathers being married and living together. Start with respecting one another and showing this behavior in your home and "THE COMMUNITY" by being loving towards one another, being accountable and responsible for your actions.

NONE of this cost a dime of the taxpayers money!

It requires looking in the mirror and making a decision to be a better person.

Hi,@1:14, I'm the one who posted at 9:52.

Since you asked, here's what I do. I volunteer at a Mental Health Crisis Hotline two nights a week, work with an informal group of "handymen, sorta" that help seniors who still live in their own homes with repairs and upkeep, and until last year volunteered with the local Boy Scout District.

Now, I'm sure my feeble efforts pale in comparison with everything you've done for the Community, but just for the sake of discussion, please list all the ways you try to make things better for others.

Also, my name isn't Maude, she was my Aunt, now deceased.
