When City Leaders Aren't Concerned, Taxpayers Should Be
In a recent story about cost overruns for the downtown convention hotel, City manager Troy Schulte said he wasn't concerned about the increased price of the hotel since cost overruns are covered by the developer."We are actually getting a better project with lower public commitment," Schulte said.
As usual, the buffoons at 12th and Oak should have kept reading the documents after the third page of 450.
ReplyDeleteFool me once?
No, fool me EVERY TIME!
They leave these negotiations wearing nothing but a big smile and their socks.
Anybody actually keeping track of the GO bond funds?
Which shell is the pea under this week?
And these clowns actually think anyone in JoCo or Wyandotte counties would be interested in joining them in a bi-state effort for a downtown baseball stadium?
Hahahahaha!!!
If you live in Kansas City, the government in going to take all your money. What difference does it make if it is the hotel, the streetcar, a downtown stadium or the Shithole at 18&Vine?
ReplyDeleteMyself and Tonyskansascity readers have been saying this for years. Most of Tonyskansascity readers always hit the nail on the Head .But there are a few that constantly get it wrong. And The Star gets it wrong in some cases as well .I
ReplyDeleteCurrent hotels aren't full. More hotels coming online in addition to the 800-room convention building, Muehlebach has 150 rooms that are dormant. Conventions are down over past years. This has success written all over it.
ReplyDelete^^and yet conventions are actually up. Weird.
ReplyDeleteWhat is weird is a chimpanzee with a keyboard! Be more entertaining,Chimpy. You're slacking today.
DeleteConventions aren't up at all d****** one of the previous commenters was right there's actually a lot of empty hotels in KC right now. Get your facts straight. Weird that you don't know what the hell you're talkin about. Sorry I guess it's not that weird at all
DeleteChumpy is on line, weird.
ReplyDeleteThe hotel will turn into one huge ass money pit which will never show any return on one dime spent to build or keep it running.
ReplyDeleteConventions are down and weird boy is an asshole. I use to do several conventions a year now I do one maybe two if that. The internet has made conventions obsolete.
@12:35PM-and yet you failed to cite your proof they're down. Fuck off. Weird.

ReplyDeleteThat's OK KC residents love taxes the will vote or pay anything you throw their way. The ones who like it the most are the Hyde Parker's and those who live in Brookside. So what do ya say guys? YES WE WILL
There were 19,767 meetings and conventions held in Las Vegas in 2017, down from 21,864 the previous year.
ReplyDeleteIf they are decreasing in Vegas you know they are everywhere. The industry goes to great lengths to hide the fact the numbers are dropping. Then you have places like Kansas City that don't have anything to offer besides a build and some hotels. Cities such as Vegas, Orlando, Miami, Chicago, San Diego, Phoenix, Atlanta, Dallas, New Orleans all have something to offer that Kansas City does not. Nobody I know goes to a convention in Kansas City, they always are going to places like I just listed.
1:30 you didn't prove anything either so how about you fucking off?
ReplyDelete^^and yet I proved you're a thin-skinned know-nothing, blabbermouth. Weird.
ReplyDeleteWho in the hell would book a convention in Killer Shitty? I mean come on!
ReplyDeleteHey 3:49 you fuck off you thin-skinned know-nothing, blabbermouth who I see posts from all the time. How about you get a job you worthless turd. Oops, I'm sorry I shouldn't talk down to mental midgets such as yourself.
ReplyDeleteCreate prostitution legal zones around these hotels. Instant success.
ReplyDelete@8:13 Very progressive idea. We're getting better! Inch by inch it's a cinch....Go Bernie Go Warren. I just love progress.
