KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Kansas City-area schools are trying to remedy a critical teacher shortage looming as the new school year begins, including by placing unqualified educators into some classrooms. The pay is next to nothing, the job garners little respect beyond empty pleasantries, everybody claims to be an expert in the field, parents blame them for every horrible habit they've instilled in their youngsters and a life time of work can be erased with a few unfortunate social media interactions . . .
