KCI prepares for flights to be impacted by Hurricane Dorian

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- More than 17 million Americans are expected to fly during Labor Day Weekend, with the peak days for flights coming today and next Monday. At KCI, 242,000 people will be jetting off, and some of them are headed directly into the path of Hurricane Dorian, which is forecast to strike Florida on Labor Day.

Blue Springs Lake under no-swim warning due to risk of E. coli

JACKSON COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -- Blue Springs Lake is under a no-swim warning for Labor Day because of the risk of E. coli. The county issued the warning last week and the bacteria levels are still dangerously high. The lake which is the only one of the four public Jackson County lakes still with high levels of bacteria.

Transit vans gain in popularity as Claycomo workers threaten a walkout

The Ford Motor Company is celebrating increased demand in its Transit van at the same time it is dealing with more than 7,400 Kansas City-area hourly union workers who are considering a strike. The union could strike Sept. 14 if a new collective bargaining agreement is not reached.

Kansas Cinema Endures

Kansas movie theater recognized for its longevity

OTTAWA, KS (AP) - The oldest continuously operating movie theater in the world might figure to be in New York or Hollywood. How about Kansas? The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that Ottawa, some 50 miles (80 kilometers) southwest of Kansas City, Missouri, is home to the Plaza 1907 Cinema, showing films since May 22, 1907, when black-and-white, silent movies ruled the day.

Missouri Governor's Mansion Renovations To Be Complete By October

The Missouri Governor's Mansion has been under renovation since mid-June, and despite unexpected structural issues, it is set to reopen on schedule at the end of October. The $3.8 million project includes upgrades to the electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems throughout the mansion. Most notably, the heating and air conditioning systems are being replaced.

    I wish I could give you more information about this, however I found out on Tonys KC. Maybe some day the administration will remember there is a Legislature and we have constituents to answer to.

  8. The Ford strike is crap. The area news say that the union offices are taking donations of food so their families have food.
    Give me a break. These people make big bucks and can stop the strike.Goes to show that people that make big bucks
    think they are entitled to extras that the average person can get. If you don’t know someone who works there, chances of
    a person get on at Ford is a long shot.
