Let's start the season with a bold prediction that our blog community can debate for the next 20 weeks whilst people with real power work to rig the economy against the best interests of the American public . . .
THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS WILL NOT WIN THE SUPER BOWL THIS SEASON!!!
In fact, it kinda seems like all of this hype could be setting up QB Patrick Mahomes for some serious disappointment when it becomes clear that he can't carry the whole team and won't be able to really lead the organization by being a nice guy.
Of course, this blog community is part of an extreme local minority in this opinion . . . Every other media outlet is already making party plans and arguing over parade routes. To be fair, NFL rules have changed so much that the game now resembles a garish high-scoring 1st round NBA playoff game with every showboat on the field dancing for the cameras.
Still, an angry Scotsman once wrote: "The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry."
We're not going to link a ton of Red Friday garbage because we think a single hottie cheerleader standing in a Westport gravel alley filled with dead mice and discarded needles whilst pretending to be excited about new graffiti pretty much sums up local anticipation better than any other "news" item.
Check back every day until the team's 2020 conclusion to see if we're right.
Tony, you suck. Go Chiefs!
ReplyDeleteYou, suck. Go KC Cheaps
ReplyDelete^^Be original or be gone geezer.
ReplyDeleteI agree Chiefs will not be playing the Super Bowl this year.

ReplyDeleteI agree. Chiefs will be in the Super Bowl and I'm smart. You people aren't.
ReplyDeleteYou just wait till next year !
ReplyDeleteNah. I'll enjoy this one first. I would say you wait, but honestly pops, you don't have the time!
ReplyDeleteYounger and dumber
ReplyDelete^^Beats older and bitter every day pops.
ReplyDeleteIt's been 50 years, Kansas City, don't hold your breath. Reason to hope - even a Cubs fan can. Reason to mope - you're only (almost) halfway there.
ReplyDelete20 years ago Chiefs first sold their soul for a chance to 'drink from the silver cup' Lombardi Trophy, remember? You 'member: Monday Night Football meltdown on-field and off collection riff-raff variously. Bought and paid for by the same mindset of 'any means necessary' in order realize the end goal a farcical football organization; two score and more, still waiting.
Deja vu: comes now 2019. The names as calendars and excuses change, never the result. An collection not so cleverly disguised fine young men jersey numerals in place (for the moment, at least) of department identification numbers, incarcerated.
Of returnees and new charges, players and character questions variously, a rap sheet legion brought to you by a desperate organization that wishes to be respected, instead of one merely has it$ hand permanently attached your wallet and gullibility. One that wishes to be more than the joke they have been, half a century.
Alas, time has passed Chiefs and the NFL by this day and age anything goes. Organization and league itself waved bye-bye to integrity game in the form rules and stats too long ago, Benjamin.
Moral: just as you can't work your way to Heaven nor buy your way to a World Series (see those annually over-hyped, over-funded, underperforming Dodgers MLB, reference), likewise cannot/will not thug your way to a Superbowl.
'Wait till next year', part 2020, verse 51
Did you enjoy last years win almost ? You younger and dumber crowd get dumber by the day
ReplyDelete^^Sure did. I enjoyed every bit of last season. It was fun and entertaining as hell. Mahomes is spectacular and I enjoyed watching him set a record and win MVP. It was fun as shit. The tailgates were fun, the friends were fun and the Chiefs were fun. Can't wait to do it again this year!
