KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- After sharing photos of surveillance video, anonymous tips poured in and police were able to catch two teen brothers accused of murder. A school resource officer from the Central Academy of Excellence also helped Kansas City police identify the two teens suspected of killing a man in their neighborhood.
Faking It In Belton
BELTON, Mo. - - A 25-year-old man died in a shooting allegedly stemming from a drug deal gone bad and involving a fake $100 "for movie use only" bill, according to court documents released on Monday. The shooting took place late last Wednesday on the 1000 block of North Scott Avenue.
Grandview Doggie Danger!!!
GRANDVIEW, Mo. - A pair of Grandview police officers went above the call of duty when they found a dog in a ditch Sunday night. An anonymous caller told dispatch the saw someone hit a dog and run, but the caller didn't stick around, so police drove in the dark with spotlights.
JoCo Sacrilege Persists
OLATHE, KS (KCTV) -- Not one, but two vehicles drove up to the donation center behind Mission Southside's building and loaded up their cars with donations that were intended for families in need. Items are brought to Mission Southside throughout the day by volunteers.
Police Seek Conversation
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City police are attempting to locate a man they say is possibly connected to the killing of a 33-year-old man back in June. Police said 31-year-old Ronald E. Phillips is wanted for homicide and other KCMO warrants. Officers were called to a shooting around 1:30 p.m.
Old School Allegations
MOUNT VERNON, MO (AP) - A 65-year-old man has been charged in the killing of a southwest Missouri woman more than 30 years ago. Lawrence Gene Timmons, of Pierce City, was indicted Friday and is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday on a first-degree murder charge in the killing of 31-year-old Cynthia Smith, of Aurora.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A Kansas City mother drove into a shooting in progress, and her young son was caught in the crossfire. Police are looking for two men who were involved in a shootout Sunday night that injured a 7-year-old boy. It happened around 10 p.m. at 54th and Brooklyn.
