Taxpayers frustrated by fight over Clay County audit

MATT: TONIGHT, MISSOURI STATE AUDITOR NICOLE GALLOWA AND TWO MEMBERS OF THE CLAY COUNTY COMMISSION - GENE OWEN AND LUANN RIDGEWAY ARE STILL AT ODDS. RIDGEWAY AND OWEN SUPPORTING A LAWSUIT - THAT'S BLOCKED PORTIONS OF GALLOWAY'S AUDIT OF THE COUNTY.

Comments

  1. OF COURSE Ridgeway and Owen have no statements to make about wasting over $100,000 (so fa) of TAXPAYER's MONEY defending their actions and trying to avoid exposure through a State Audit.

Now we'll wait for "somebody" to post an attack on Jerry Nolte here as an attempt to divert attention away from these two and their allies.

  3. ^^^Yes, @9:53, but that hasn't stopped "somebody" from attacking him here every time the misdeeds of Ridgeway and Owen are discussed on this site.

They post the same old crap, always accusing him of being "in the pocket of Developers" without ever mentioning that both Ridgeway and Owen have just as close or even closer ties to Developers themselves, as evidenced by the shady deal Owen just rammed through, giving away prime real estate on Vivion Road to one of his biggest contributors in exchange for undeveloped land further north.

This is all part of Ridgeway and Owen's plan to move the Clay County Annex offices from their current central location to a "new" location just a few miles from the present Court House, thereby voiding the convenience of having a central location to pay taxes and conduct business with the County. (No identities leaked yet as to which of their supporters get the lucrative contracts for this "new" building.)

Their actions are becoming more and more desperate and blatant as the spotlight gets closer and closer to what they have been doing the past three years.

  4. Something is rotten in Clay County and Jerry Nolte is the front man for the developers who want to regain control.
One example was the Clay County special election, August 8, 2017. Youth services tax special election. Proponents comply with Missouri Campaign Financing Laws.  Election day hundreds of voters come to polls with false and misleading opposition talking points.
Clay children's services tax passes by half a percent.
Normally, special elections for schools, bond issues, etc., receive little opposition and pass easily. Jackson County, August 2016, election, youth services tax passes with 60% approval. special election, August 8, 2017. Youth services tax special election. Proponents comply with Missouri Campaign Financing Laws. No public opposition and no opposition campaign committee appears in evidence.
Post election conclusion that thousands of anonymous computer phone calls were made by consulting firms that violated Missouri law by failing to establish a campaign committee and disclose contributions.
The petition group has attacked the Children's Service Board on social media. The developers are not willing to share county taxes.
Nutle and Witless have been the leaders of opposition to services for abused, abandoned and homeless kids.

  5. Nolte has been promoting all the controversy at the behest of a developer who wants to regain control of Clay County.
Nolte's first contribution in 2014 was $5,000 from the developer. Millions of dollars in TIF and other incentives are at stake. Nolte's October 11, meeting featured a lecture on TIF from this developer. Nolte has been leading the effort to create controversy in order to discredit the other officeholders in the hope that the others can be easily defeated. Check the background of Nolte's first contributor and you will find convincing evidence of criminal activity. Note multiple linked arson fires in Clay and Jackson
County. Mikey Sanders corruptly declined to prosecute Nolte's patron for his involvement in the Schutte Lumber yard, Southwest Boulevard, $8 million arson fire in 2003. Developer also torched two of his own lumberyards and claimed $2 million in insurance losses.
