Pitch: Kansas City Needs Wind Power?!?!

Energy supposition from these newsies who are a lot less powerful and influential than they used to me . . . Here's the green new deal talking point that is good to generate some discussion but maybe not kilowatt hours.

Take a look:

Why is KCP&L and Westar-now Evergy-so committed to coal plants when wind could save ratepayers hundreds of millions a year?

Alan Kiniry A report released earlier this month found that Evergy's Kansas coal fleet lost $267 million in a four-year span relative to pricing for market energy, and predicted another $847 million loss over the next 20 years. Evergy-the new corporate name of KCP&L and Westar, which merged last year-provides power to eastern Kansas and western Missouri.

  1. Before Kansas City Missouri focuses on wind power, they need to focus on fixing the violence in this shit hole, and the voters need to focus on getting the local government corruption in check!! Wind turbines wont fix that shit!

  2. Evergy? What a GAY name for a energy company....A Millenial liberal came up with that stupid shit! 2 greedy energy companys that came together to charge you even higher energy rates....sounds like a Green New Deal to me!!!

  3. KC MIGHT want to take a look at Hydro Power, that idea could work if there was only some reliable source of running water in the area.

  4. ^^ The local water is too turbid.

  5. We like our insect eating birds and bats too much to let them get chopped to pieces by wind turbines.

  6. Why not more wind? 1. It costs significantly more. 2. It's not a reliable source given it's weather dependent. 3. Wind turbines gradually decrease output significantly over time to where they are even more inefficient which means less power. Turbines are not sustainable long term. 4. They are a blight on the skyline. 5. They are only possible with the subsidies they get from the Government. 6. Europe is no longer embracing Wind power and large numbers of turbines are now abandoned.

  7. You Neanderthals lying about wind turbines killing masses of birds (no, they don't - your damned cats do, and your cars, and your utility lines, and the windows in your house and office buildings, you dolts!) Wind turbines are becoming more efficient, cheaper, provide many more jobs than coal, which, by the way, isn't making a comeback, but rather heading over the cliff to multiple bankruptcies. Wind and solar take in far less subsidies than fossil fuel industry and pay more in taxes per kilowatt. No one in the sustainable energy industry is dying from black lung disease, mesothelioma, cancer, heart disease or hangnail directly connected to the green industry. No wind turbine or solar panel has ever leaked 100,000s of barrels of oil, either onto the ground or into the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans or our rivers and streams. Europe not only is still embracing wind and solar, they are developing and producing the best turbines and panels compared to Merica. And because we've failed to wholeheartedly support the development and manufacture of solar panels in this country, China is capturing the world market. So you just go on and throw a tantrum about losing your incandescent bulbs to Obama. Your bigot boy will be voted out in 15 months and indicted in 18 months.
