KANSAS CITY ROYALS SOLD FOR ONE BILLION BUCKS: RIPOFF?!?!

That's a hefty price tag for one of the worse teams in the league. Meanwhile, fanboys are desperately shouting down any chance of the team moving despite the pathetic journey of the club from first to worst over the course of less than 10 months.

Moreover . . .

TKC TOLD YOU SO: A DOWNTOWN STADIUM IS NOW AN INEVITABILITY TO KEEP THE TEAM!!!

Sorry, but putting faith in a Kansas City billionaire to be nice and look out for the best interests of this town is one of the dumbest arguments from baseball fans we've seen so far . . . And these are the same people who argued for the designated hitter.

  1. Professional sports, especially particularly violent ones like American football, are nothing more than the modern-day bread and circus versions of ancient Roman gladiator games that emperors used to stage during periods of economic upheaval in the Roman empire in order to distract the masses from the declining quality of their lives.

  2. ^^^^ The royals are baseball. Baseball is the American pastime. Get a grip.

    1. You miss the point, and the panem et circenses continue. Where did that middle class go anyway? Hey guys let's all get nuts over children's games!

  3. I support downtown baseball and it's one of the few things the city can put money into that will actually get a return

  4. Move to Royals downtown and move all the homosexuals and hipsters to Truman Sports Complex.

  5. ^^^ Too late.

    Bwahahahahahahhahaha!

  7. Sherman paid an inflated price for a failed team in a failed town.

  8. David Glass walks away with $900 Million, and the Royals are going to try and stick KC taxpayers with a $1 Billion stadium bill!

    Outrageous!!

    Rise Up Taxpayers!!!

  9. Nobody ever learned modesty, patience, kindness or love from ANY sports. Its all about getting out there on the "battlefield and destroying the adversary". No wonder kids are violent.

  10. Sports turns ordinary people into entry level players, then later into Gods. They earn more than doctors who perform heart surgery everyday, deal with death, sad families and lawsuits. And all the players do is "play" a "game" that many kids play each day. Yes, its a kids game. Played by adults. Have we lost our minds? Its not like a Chiefs player is driving a Indy car at 200mph and could be burned to death, impailed by parts, or decapitated and killed by another driver who is making a mistake...….

No they play a CHILDS GAME. They aint Gods to me!

  11. They forgot Avron fogleman, he was part owner in the eighties

4:38 don’t forget he had to pay his players for twenty years and he chipped in $75 million for the stadium renovations, well, I think it was $75 million. I’m betting he made some money but not $900 million, not even close.

  12. I bet it was quite a spectacle when the guy walked in and slapped a briefcase filled with $900 million on Davids desk.

Here ya go Dave! Thanks a lot and enjoy your time with family! Thought about just cutting a check but decided this would be easier.

  13. ^^^ This sale has to be approved and a multitude of other things has to happen before he glass gets his money so calm down there skippy!

  14. Since Sherman already owns a part interest in one team, will the League allow this transaction to stand? They've disapproved attempted sales for that very reason before.

  15. I wouldnt give the Royals the price of a nose bleed ticket! The new owner must be a fucking moron to buy this lemon of a sports franchise, and now that he spent all his money buying the team he will never have enough money to retain good players. This new owner must have been DRUNK, HIGH, while eating some hooker pussy, thinking he was a winner when he made this deal!! What a ego driven idiot..

    According to who? You?

    That's a laugh.

Nobody is even talking about a downtown stadium.

  17. Downtown stadium is a joke-it could be in Odessa, Mo. and it would probably do better than anywhere were decent folk feel threatened. You think groids and the ghetto pay the bills ? Hmmm ? Maybe a bit in this age of welfare. Downtown b-ball was a novelty that harkened to a nostalgic age. That novelty is 30 yrs removed and the next novelty that would keep groids out would be a real old fashioned park in the middle of a cornfield like Smith Center, KS.

  18. Why haven't they named who the co investors are? Maybe illig/brett/helzberg/ maybe even buffett.
