Grandview's mayor has some critical words for Jackson County about its 2019 property assessment process. Mayor Leonard Jones Jr. is the latest critic of Jackson County's assessment process, calling it "hugely problematic," adding to scrutiny from local and state officials and taxpayers over the past few months.Jones wrote a letter to Jackson County Executive Frank White and the Jackson County Legislature this week, saying his city government could lose up to $1 million in property tax revenue.

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) - Kansas State researchers have received a three-year, $2.8 million federal grant for a project to enhance utility operators' awareness of and resilience to cyberattacks. The award from the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office was announced Thursday.
