Kansas City All-Girl School Progressive Indoctrination Or Diversity Life Lessons?!?
Worthwhile morning read on a new, local gender studies effort which earns taxpayer funding but offers a curriculum that might be overtly political . . . Of course there's not much question about propagandizing the NEXTGEN in the write-up BUT the news still merits consideration as one of many examples that the American public education curriculum is often determined by shifting partisan allegiances and governmental fads given that Red-Scare McCarthyism garbage was once "taught" to Cold-War era youngsters.
Here's the story:
KCUR: Fifth-Graders At Kansas City's First All-Girls Charter Learn To Be Anti-Racist, Feminist Leaders
"Kansas City's first charter school for girls only opens next week with a staff that reflects the diversity of its students and the community. Kansas City Girls Preparatory Academy is entering a crowded charter market, but school leaders are counting on a curriculum that highlights the contributions of women and people of color to attract and keep students."
It's a nice thought and a more complete view of American history important.
However . . .
IS THIS KANSAS CITY CHARTER SCHOOL TEACHING SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIOR HYPE OR PROVIDING VALUABLE LIFE LESSONS?!?
Consider . . .
Navigating an increasingly multicultural society is, in fact, a valuable skill as many Americans are crippled by their inability to cope with distinct changes in American demographics, power dynamics and socially acceptable discourse.
And so, we're curious about the mostly unfiltered reaction to this Kansas City educational effort that might, in fact, prove the need for increased diversity training.
You decide . . .
