TKC READERS NOTICE KANSAS CITY STAR CIRCULATION PLUMMETS AS NEWSPAPERS DISAPPEAR FROM SHELVES SUNDAY!!!

Look around and notice EVERYBODY with a phone pushed in front of their face . . . Meanwhile, humanity reading anything but their mobile devices is a rarity.

To wit, here's an important note for our blog community and a local slice of life . . .

"Hey TKC, Did the Star publish a newspaper today? Didn't see a copy at three different convenience stores in Midtown today. A friend of mine at Starbucks also told me that most of the local shops are ahead of the game and already cancelled their newspaper subscriptions because they just go straight in the recycling bin. Today, I noticed there wasn't a single newspaper on the street or any of the places I usually look. Hate to admit it but I do make reading Sunday papers a habit and was only able to pick up the Wall Street Journal this Sunday. Not that I miss it much, but just like YOUR rhetorical tap dancing. It's good for a laugh now and then."

Thanks! I guess . . . And to be fair, I haven't noticed the absence of the newspaper because I rarely look at it but have noticed the KC Star paywall has improved and more people are just picking up or linking stuff from A VARIETY OF OTHER SOURCES locally.

  5. They should have just changed their product from news paper to toilet paper so it would have been useful for something when they told you who to vote for. The journalist integrity would have remained unchanged.

  6. Better devices instead of paper. Paper isn't as good at mind control.

  7. I saw a guy with his earbuds plugged in to his paper. And another with the paper strapped onto his arm like a monitoring device. Another guy was tapping on his paper spread out on the table like a keyboard. A girl was scrolling her finger along her paper then tapping on it with her thumbs.

  8. Look at the positive. The paper doesn't steal your content and personal information to sell. Send your info to the NSA. Force pop ups and and ads into your face... etc.

  9. Live outside KCMO city limits so really dont give a fuck7/21/19, 11:09 PM

I havent read a KCStar newspaper in over 15 years, I heard the site of the current KC star building was scheduled to be torn down to make way for a building that actually contributed to the benifit of the city! I have heard rumors that might be the location for the next 3 Light tower. Who knows but the KC Star building is a waste of downtown space for sure.

  10. Those blue vending boxes are empty nowadays too. At least th ones I see in my usual route

I don’t celebrate the demise of attention-span journalism. Way different than a blog which just is parasite on the journalism work of others.

But the Star dug their own grave with their fascination with the GLBTQ fad. Seriously every single day it is several stories and editorials about it.

  13. Kansas City Star, like CNN, ABC, CNBC etc, is no longer a source of news but simply a left-wing, communist propaganda rag similar to the Soviet Union's Pravda. Sadly, the local news stations such as KMBC - Channel 9 are following the same pattern with daily attacks on the President and law enforcement and supporting far left-wing agendas such as open borders. If you get a chance drive by KMBC's headquarters on 67th and Winchester.

The Channel 9 headquarters is surrounded by an iron fence, iron gate, security cameras etc. Ironically, everyday KMBC slams the President and U.S. citizens for wanting a fence to protect our country's borders. Talk about hypocrisy. Take down your fence KMBC-Channel 9 and invite the illegal aliens and local citizens into your property.
