A very nice 15% hike was pushed through whilst the Mayor-Elect was on vacay. Most voters don't resent the increase as much as how it was passed - With council downplaying the vote until they decided for it at the last minute.

East Side Grocery Earn More EPIC City Hall Subsidy


The City-owned Sun Fresh can't pay its bills and so Council decided to cut a check for $375K this week. The power move is that many more will follow.

This Kansas City area social justice activist collective scored a major victory as their continued protest and activism outlasted a local lawman under investigation. Whilst the retiring KCKPD Chief touted his accomplishments over his career, this episode reminds us of the power of of media savvy groups flexing on public officials.

    1. For me, Quinton Lucas skipping the vote was the biggest deal. It's a sign of things to come and that our mayor doesn't take his job very seriously. He'd rather make excuses on social media.

Now the mayor is in the top one percent of pay for the city, regular everyday working men and women have to work two and in some cases three jobs to make that kind of money the mayor only works five months out of the year. Sad. Now the clowncil makes more money than fifty percent of all city workers combined. Even more Sad.
