Kansas City Star: Schools Must Serve As Social Media Comment Moderators?!?!

A report of online beef betwixt students belies the bigger issue that this note stumbles upon and is far more interesting . . .

HOW SHOULD SCHOOLS REACT TO SOCIAL MEDIA BEEF AMONG STUDENTS?!?!?

In the era of mass shootings, bullying and rising suicide among youngsters, there's a plea from teachers & administrators begging the NEXTGEN to talk/inform/report social media threats. But monitoring every Internets dispute would leave little time for education. And so one of many nasty phone app arguments confronts a local school district and earns just a bit of ink . . .

This eighth-grader was called the N-word. Will Liberty school officials take action?

  4. The school district should have no business policing what students write when they're not in school. This is a first amendment issue and will get smacked down easily

^^Or it's the educators job to educate the students about what is acceptable behavior, & what is not.

Only a racist piece of shit would argue for someone's right to say the N word.

  6. ^^^^^^^^Only you say the shit you do. I hear the N word all day long coming from the music that black people like as they drive up and down the streets with it blaring from their cars.

Been to a rap concert lately Byron???????

Those you so claim to support use the word all the time every day.
