Kansas City First Friday Car Takeover

Hipsters and developers would like the public to think that Kansas City's First Friday tradition is an artsy affair packed with the creative class and the local elite.

Sometimes.

But this is Kansas City.

And a good crowd and a driving strip like Southwest Blvd. also provide a great place to do donuts, burnouts and scare the suburbanites.

Admittedly, this isn't in the middle of the artsy district but does provide a good indiation that the whole "East Crossroads" scheme financed by taxpayers isn't gonna work.

  7. Great way to kill a set of tires. Any of these tiny-dicked losers have jobs, or are they able to afford this playtime by being criminals? Just curious.

  8. ^^^^ Kinda have to agree. Seems dangerous, they should find a closed course. Interesting to see KCPD just drive through it without trying to stop it in the middle of the street.

  9. 7:34 is absolutely right.
Not the East Crossroads at all.

Which is Main to Oak or Holmes,
    16th to 19th,
plus of course the incomparable Belger Red Star Studios at 21st and Walnut,

and then, in a class by itself, and a neighborhood as well,
22nd and Tracy, the Belger family's Belger CraneYards...
