Kansas City Doesn't Care About Hamilton?!?

Musical theater is a tough sell outside of Broadway NYC and itseems that MSM hype isn't translating into very much cowtown excitement for this favorite performance of the East Coast progressive elite.

Whilst the hip-hop revisionist history has earned a litany of awards and accolades, this hard-sell news of deep discounting shows us that Kansas City residents aren't buying the founding fathers as rap battle emcees.

First off Alexander Hamilton was not black and did not dance around like a KC faggot. Second off the ticket prices are ridiculous.

You're an idiot, Tony. There is a lottery for every Hamilton production, beginning with the original cast in New York. It's a way for those who can't afford market prices to have a chance to see the show.

Why not 1776?

Too optimistic, too positive about America, and not enough cringeworthy (ugh) rap battles or whatever.

It's the economy stupid

Don't know about you broke-ass geezers, but I can afford tickets. You have to remember Tony, your audience is nothing more than a bunch of shut-in geezers who are broke. They don't go anywhere, do anything, or see anybody. Plus, they don't like the "koloreds". They're also a bunch of chickenshit scaredy cats to boot.

Chickenshit you’re the one that likes it in the arse

Speak for yourself Mr. Insult (comment @ 10:06).

I was at the world premier of overture the musical - were you? (played at "arts asylum" former church on e. 9th in a formerly grand neighborhood now real dinged out). And i am going to see it in July in NYC - are you???

And I think the Hamilton tickets are too expensive. I'm sure it's great but have to keep the budget in mind... keeping an eye on personal finances doesn't make one a cultural philistine. Being rude and viscious doesn't make you sophisticated.

I actually won the initial lottery to buy tickets. Face value was $436 per ticket. There's no way on earth I'd spend $1000 for two tickets to any event. i'm sure it'll be popular though. There's a lot of money to be made on white guilt and perpetuating the illusion of racism

^^Or get this...great entertainment. How about that cracker?

Anonymous said...

There's no entertainment worth $500 a ticket. The point was that suburban white people will happily pay for this shit because they feel guilt for their race.

Also, I'm latino

Hamilton is the greatest musical this century--and actually an opera, but don't tell, OK?
I'd love to win the Sunday lottery, and admire Lin Manuel-Miranda and team for ALWAYS having a lottery. It echoes the American theme.

I have listened to the soundtrack over 40 times. Flawless. Can't say I have the lyrics memorized, they go by pretty quick--but know all the tunes and harmonies.

If anyone has one great seat eg first 10 rows--any performance--even short notice--for $50 then call me or email 123tracy@gmail.com I want to "be in the room where it happens!"

I especially love the songs sung by King George (who was played originally by Chris Jackson, who you might know from the TV series, Bull.)

Tomorrow is D-Day. And we will all think about the invasion of Normandy to save civilization. I also think about how many of the countries we fought in war later became our best allies. Starting with England.

@11:52 You're also a loser. You forgot that. Fixed it for you beaner.

A nice thought around D day Tracy but another relevant thought is What about once-allies who become enemies? Soviet Russia defeated German fascism with a little bit of help from the US, then we had a cold war against them and now we have a whole new round of McCarthyism and fear-mongering against Russia.

And how about our ally iraq who we armed and funded in their war against Iran in the 80s? Later we sanctioned invaded (twice!) and occupied them and we still there.

Good luck getting Hamilton Tix by the way.

Thanks,
Radish

Racist garbage, call it what it is!!!

^^or get this..how about we call you what you are? White-trash loser! How about that?

^^^^ little girl, pull your panties out of your crack and go back to bed, talk about trash!

^^Ouch. Looks like 1:37PM cut it a little to close to the bone. Bomb dropped, target eliminated. You're all gone now. All gone.

Let's just ignore those dropping bombs here today. and get back to the conversation of those with minds engaged.

Thanks, Radish--
and great observations about frenemies.

We have to put Japan in the friend column. And what a great accomplishment that was. My father was 17 serving on Iwa Jima. He brought back a silk scarf, (which I have framed) that he took off a dead Jap (I cleaned up his language.) The thin silk scarf was signed by all the soldier's family before he went into battle.

It's a wonderful thing when those who were fighting find common ground.
I just watched Marie Antoinette movie by Sophia Coppola on cable, 2006). She and Louie Auguste (XVI) were bankrupting France--in order to send francs to support Lafayette and his dear friend, Thomas Jefferson.

Why? Because they wanted the British to LOSE!
And now, on Halloween, the British will Brexit. Because the invading Moslem hordes in Europe have made the continent a socialist nightmare.
Then we have Germany getting all cozy, buying all their oil from Russia????
Would YOU do that, Chancellor Radish????

And here in KCMO, Sly pens a desperate thinly veiled attack on Quinton Lucas to support his mini-me---and partner in crime re the new KCI and a worse Westport, Jolie JustUs. Sly is about as black as Obama. And just as unproud of it.

Radish stated "And i am going to see it in July in NYC - are you???"

Glad you will see this but sad that you will miss the disappointment of flying in and out of the new downgraded KCI failure for an airport.

Lottery / Auction for a black play. (Lol)

Is Tony on vacation? Did he sell the site and not tell anyone?

The headlines over the last few days have been particularly sloppy.

Hamilton is SOLD OUT. 24 performances with 2400 tickets per show.

It's one thing to use your tabloid hater persona about anything popular to rile up comments. It's another to make shit up. Kansas City cared enough to buy over 55,000 tickets. Secondary market tickets are selling well above face value.

The Broadway lottery concept was popularized by Rent in the 1990s. They held back a couple dozen tickets for each show at a cheap price to allow those that couldn't afford full price and scalpers markups to have a chance at seeing the show. Last chance geezers. IF you can afford $10 and can set your racism aside, you might also be able to attend this record breaking Tony award winning show. Better yet, don't so the true fans will have the opportunity.

1st- rap sucks the devils ass. Poetry for those who think dat shit needsta rime. Melody is still what makes music despite what the ivy league critics spouted off about 100 yrs ago. They helped us get half of the unlistenable crap that passes for music today. "Hamilton" is nothing more than a paint by numbers creation of all that sells in America today. Hip Hop, rebellion, white bad, black good--half black "really really good". Just needs a few more homosexuals, but I guess they are all sitting in the audience. Really, until black folks and the youth they have corrupted STOP!-take the time to "be still and listen"-they will only know the sound of war drums.

^^What Springheel said, y'all!

Manuel-Miranda, throw a scarf to Tracy that's been signed by the entire cast, you know, one suitable for framing. said...

Tracy cracks on Germany for acting all biggest buds with Russia, as though greed and grudges are supposed to never be in bed together. Ha! Look at Tracy now, feeling all warm and fuzzy for "those" people who are performing in Hamilton. A few weeks ago she warned that installing a community center in Shawnee would be inviting "kids" from the low-down dirtbag Dotte to be dropped off by their welfare mooching babymamas. It is just rich beyond hypocritical that she praises this lottery offering for Hamilton ticket sales that makes attending this performance affordable to the not so rich. Maybe some Dotte dirtbag mooch geezers will be seated next to Tracy, the sophisticate. That post @ 6:59pm screams Thomas sanctimony balogna throughout.

Doesn't interest me. I'm white, educated, happy and it's one of the last things I want to spend my time/money on. And I don't need anyone's approval to feel okay.... I could give a hoot.

Doesn't care apparantly = dozens of tickets available in a venue that hold thousands of people.
