Some denizens of the Exec's office would have us believe that Republican legislators from the Missouri GOP super-majority are the culprits in one of the worst jail atrocities KCMO has ever witnessed. But let's not forget that an emergency report was crafted and delivered to Exec Frank White more than two years ago with even more agreement earlier this year from his own committee and he STILL hasn't done much to fix the situation but instead focuses on winning the PR game. Karen Backues Keil is still suing the guard and the mental health counselor she says raped and sexually assaulted her at Chillicothe Correctional Center. Now the Missouri Attorney General's Office is trying to send her back there. The Missouri Department of Corrections owes counties throughout the state more than $20 million for housing inmates bound for state prison.
