TKC FROM MY MOM'S BASEMENT: MOTHER'S DAY PLAYLIST 2019!!!

Late night dedication and last word for Sunday.

TONIGHT WE WISH ALL OF KANSAS CITY A HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Our selection of songs has a common theme but is also cross-cultural . . .

First up, a country classic and one of my favorite songs they once played on old school WHB radio all the time . . .

Next up, another iconic tune from The King Of The Blues who still claims many Kansas City fans and always made this town on of his favorite stops along his seemingly endless tour . . .

Finally, when I was a tiny TKC, my Grandpa used to sing this folkloric Mexican classic late at night and usually after getting drunk and walking home through old school and much-rougher-than-present-day streets of 1970s Westside & Midtown . . . For non-Spanish speakers: The translation will rip your heart out.

The common theme:

Amid the gamut of Western culture notice that even grown men get a sentimental and downright weepy when they give their mama even a bit of serious consideration -- Given that this blog, like all blogs is written from the mom's basement of the author . . . This heartfelt mommy's day truism is something to consider amid the endless election cycle and as Internet-keyboard-warrior-tough-guys abound.

As always, thanks for reading this week. And hopefully, we'll have more for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!
