A tragic glimpse at the culture of increasingly fickle local fanboys and the fading fortunes of a team that's more interested in censoring pr0n than winning baseball games.
On the bright side, local baseball life without JoCo housewives pretending to be interested REMAINS a blessing.

Royals aren't worried yet about flagging attendance
The Kansas City Royals have one of the worst records in baseball, a fact that's been reflected in the attendance so far this season. But the team said it banks on the Memorial Day to Labor Day window for the bulk of its attendance anyway.
The Royals are the worst team in the AL but that’s only part of the problem. The Twins have the best record in the AL and are only averaging 2600 more fans than the Royals. They just put upper level tickets on sale for $5 and sold 20000 in 24 hours. The price of attending a game has a lot to do with the low attendance.
ReplyDeleteJust don’t make it so cheap that negroes will drop their kids off there. See World of Fun.
ReplyDelete^^^^ and future Shawnee Rec Center.
ReplyDeleteIt’s cheaper to buy some heroin, stay high all day and watch a real team on TV.
ReplyDeleteSave your money and watch the highlights on ESPN. The Royals and Chiefs have made it too expensive to go to the game for many folks.
ReplyDeleteThe only young people interested in baseball are those that played it. That number is dwindling in US. It is dying a slow death. Nothing more fun on a Tuesday night than driving out to Raytown to spend $300-$500 bucks.
ReplyDeleteYeah and Dayton's moral high ground. I always love the conspicuously pious.
Dayton Moore will not be here in 5 years... or less.
I’m in my 30s and I’m just not interested in baseball games anymore. Yeah the fluke back to back World Series was nice, but deep down that’s not who the royals organization really is. Not with it’s current ownership. Wasn’t it posted that the costs of going to the game is one of the highest in the nation? Top 10 or something like that.
ReplyDeleteIt’s like the Chiefs...it’s only a season or two away from costing $100 just to park. Double digit beer costs, etc. mahomes is going to be used to justify the ticket increases. I’m not paying Kansas City sports organizations to be let down anymore.
3 dollar seats, 1 dollar beer and 1 dollar parking will pack em in !
ReplyDeleteBaseball is boring but don't worry! KCMO is going to become a super high-tech nirvana of endless leisure with sex robots when we get our new Mayor!
ReplyDeletePeople think that a stadium in downtown is a good idea. After the newness wears off, then what another empty stadium.
ReplyDeleteMaybe make it a little cheaper to attend. Maybe 5 dollar parking and more dollar days would be helpful.
Pro Baseballs time has come and gone. Be lucky to survive another 25 years.
