60 mph on level/ flat road and ramping up over curb onto sidewalk; and continue down the sidewalk for a quarter mile without a noticeable decrease in speed does not add up. My two cents. He was flat out a bad driver to begin with and jerking around on the phone made him go over the curb losing body control ( not wearing seat belt) and therefore mistook the brake for accelerator. If he had passed out as he claims, no way he stays on that sidewalk without some real physical effort to maintain a relative straight path.
This is bullshit and nothing more than a hate crime. His brakes failed and that's the excuse he's going 60 mph?
ReplyDeleteRight, shift the blame to something else...the brakes, because it clearly wasn't your own incompetence that caused this tragedy.
ReplyDeleteSo if your brakes go out you jump sidewalks and try to run over people to stop? Modern day cars just don't lose all braking at once.
ReplyDeleteBut the report also says the 70-year-old could have lost consciousness for up to 8 blocks, and police say they're still investigating.
ReplyDeleteSimple solution. No drivers licenses for geezers.
The brakes didn't work so he used the accelerator and took a life. :(

ReplyDeleteNo geezer licenses for those over 65! They are a menace to society!
